    Nice looking installation.
I built one for my 2019 crewmax. Wanted the top flat when the seats are up so I could lay stuff back there like suit cases. So I put lids on mine. Made it out of 1/2 and 3/8 plywood. Covered with bed liner.

This is amazing! I like the idea of the lids so you can put things back there on top of them. I like how you included the Limited emblems as well. I can tell you put alot of effort into this! Nice work!

Very cool post! I took the plunge with the esp long gun storage. I considered the bin storage however that would eliminate security feature, in addition to having a solid floor if dog is back there. The long gun storage has the lids providing security an solid floor albeit uneven. As mentioned the hardest part was cutting into the foam. I followed esp video however I had a few surprises not covered. The main one was the push to start module located in center. Luckily I didn't splice into that. Overall I'm happy with the way it turned out. 20230404_191317.jpg 20230404_191317.jpg 20230404_191343.jpg

This is super nice and a great way to take advantage of that dead space. Thanks for the step by step!

This thread inspired me to give it a try. Thanks for the help! Threw an inverter and air compressor I had laying around in the big ones. Here's how mine turned out:

I notched the seat bracket for the middle tray using a dremel so it could fit:

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone done a full gut storage build. It seems like all of the offerings leave a ton of space unused with small tubs. Appreciating the picture above showing all the foam gutted. I really like the OP's idea, but instead of the catering pans, just having it full open and doing carpeting over the entire space and then the wood walls extending up to the bottom of the seats. I'm also surprised when doing to volume calculation between the 3 plastic tub off the shelf kit vs the full metal bin kit. So close in overall volume

wish I had the cojones to slice and dice my 18 crew max! the ONLY thing I somewhat dislike about my new to me truck. I dang sure need the rear storage capacity. Very nice stuff to those with the skills to build and install your own!

Great idea, now I have get up the guts to cut into the floor and through my new floor mats, that go right back to the seat hinges. (In the snow belt, one needs a full set of floors mats). FYI - in Canada Costco business center also carries these, stainless steel pans. I looked for them on the US Costco site but only found the deeper pans. Maybe more searching will turn up, the shallow pans. Your job looks great

Glad I found this thread, so disappointed with the lack of stowage space in a 21 Crew Max. Lifted up the back seat and said to myself WTF and shook my head, I figured there wasn't anything under the carpet but dead space, doesn't make sense that Toyota wouldn't use that space for potential stowage. Found a 3 compartment plastic molded stowage assembly that looks like it may work, from a company called Trail Grid Pro fits 14-21 models. A little pricey IMO at $210 bucks but if it works it will be well worth it, only other option is to have a locked stowage box in the bed.

I gutted mine, no seats and no seat brackets including no foam. Replaced the carpet with vinyl/rubber type material and preparing to build me a base with a add on for the dog surface a little higher for heat/AC and under that my storage area. All in the works but the carpet and seat/foam is done

A lot of room back there for many ideas but I need to the seats for family and friends, one of the reasons I got the Tundra so much more room than a Tacoma. Thanks for the replay.

It was from a company named Factory Interiors but after I installed this I sent them pictures because I simply do not understand how this would have fit over the foam and rear seat brackets. I am glad it was so small because I do not have that under mine. The seats are gone for good and have no plans to replace them.

I was never contacted from the original message and after 3 attempts I got a reply and it said the install looked good to them. I had to do things I was not happy with to make it fit but in the end it fit for my needs and under $200
