Waiting to get the time to install the FRAC harness for front/rear camera and the yellow with amber backlit Diode Dynamics Elite series fog lamps so in the meantime, slapped the overlays on the steering wheel "silver."

Diode Dynamics Elite Series fog lamps arrived and I installed them a couple days ago. Pretty impressive light output compared to the stock ones for sure. Have to go back in to hook up the amber back light feature.

Installed a 20" light bar and front camera today. Light bar was easy enough but ran out of time when I couldn't think to look at the "installation help" page on the FRAC (front rear anytime camera) harness site to install the switch. Well, now I have something to do tomorrow.

Kinda neat to be able to change the colors of the light bar. Only one that's really bright enough to be functional is the white light though, pretty obvious in that last pic as you go through blue, yellow, purple, teal, green and red.

Thanks for sharing. I like it. At some point I might do the same, put the white ends back on and paint the center.

Repurposed the spacers that were on my factory skid plate to use as spacers to bump the lightbar up an inch and half or so. Initially, it was being partially blocked by the lower portion of the grille. Now I can see the lower set of screws on the light bar so at least I'm getting as much light as possible out into the world.

Added amber "Raptor" grille lights from YotaLeds. Used fuse spot to get power any time ignition is "on."

Decided to use the vinyl that I had left from wrapping the rear bumper ends to do the hood graphic. Was wondering how I was going to make an accurate pattern when I remembered watching someone on YouTube use 3M knifeless tape to shape their vinyl graphics. After getting that figured out, it was a snap. Took about an hour and that was with stopping to help a coworker put some air in a tire with my tiny portable compressor.
    • cleaned the hood
    • outlined the area with the knifeless tape
    • cut a piece of the vinyl slightly larger than the area
    • pulled off the passenger side backing first and started to smooth it out
    • pulled the rest of the backing and finished getting out the trapped bubbles
    • ensured that it was down on both sides of the knifeless tape

    • pulled up the tape filament, making the cut
    • removed the excess vinyl from the outside
    • removed the excess left from the knifeless tape
    • **Remember to remove the other half of the knifeless tape that's under the vinyl.
    • finished smoothing out and ensuring that the edges were down
    • cut the part that runs along the windshield and folded up and under the rear edge of the hood

The knifeless tape is a game changer. I was thinking about how I was going to make a pattern, blah, blah, blah and then remembered I had the stuff from a failed early attempt at wrapping the rear bumper ends. Only thing I would have done different is that I didn't have a step ladder to work from the front of the truck, had to stand on the tires and work from either side. Oh and a friend to hold the vinyl up as you go would have been clutch too but since I have no friends I made it work solo.

And don't forget, like I did, to remove the second half of the knifeless tape that's still under the decal when finished. The filament splits the tape into two pieces, one that's visible on the outside of the vinyl you just cut and a second half that's just under the edge. Oops. Pulled it out this morning and pressed the edge back down.

Accepted new position in our NY office so commute just got very long. Installed "Seat Jackers" from Desert Does It to see if makes the seating position more comfortable for the longer drives. Jury still out as I've only got one day with 'em so far. Easy enough to remove if I decide I don't like 'em.

Nice truck man, simple and clean. How do you like the KO2? I heard lots of mixed reviews about them, especially on the wet pavement.

I really like the KO2 so far, very little road noise, tread seems to be wearing okay, no issues in the rain, displaces a ton of water as most hybrid all terrain tires should. I have not experienced the lack of traction. Full disclosure, I drive it much more like a truck and much less like it's a sportscar though. I'm hoping for snow like a grade school kid so I can play around and see how they are.

Thanks for the info. I’m thinking about my next set of tires. I have Toyo at3 40K so far no complaints. They have probably 10K+ More Miles ahead

Appreciate that. I'm really enjoying trying things I see others doing on this site. Really happy with the truck as it's been everything I expected and then some.

It is a good truck and I love the dbl cab. Had a crewmax in 2008, the dbl cab is better IMO. Anyway, looking forward to more of your build so I can steal some ideas:thumbsup::D

First time out in the snow since I bought the truck. Some "hooning" around Netcong, NJ while here for training.

Should have done two things: first put the camera back where could see me sawing at the steering wheel and two, get the dirty deeds exhaust so that you can hear that rather than my nylon jacket swishing against itself once I turn the music off.

KO2s were great when I wasn't sliding around on purpose. Right up several fairly steep, snow-coated roads with no issues and even better, didn't slide out into traffic on the way back down.

Having changed jobs from driving into Philadelphia to making the trek to Manhattan, I’m looking to sell the Tundra before the miles get out of whack. Certainly a lot more going on here than the SR5 trim would suggest (see posts #1 and #45). Will end up trading it in and only the dealer will benefit from the love I’ve put into it. I figured I’d offer it up here and see if you guys would give me an idea if I could get close to the $50K that I need to make it worth NOT trading it. Gotta’ get something more suited to turnpike driving. Thank you very much in advance. - Dave

p.s. would include the original suspension parts, the original front bumper ends (white), original floor mats and Toyota extended warranty good to 10/30/26 or 75,000 miles. Has just over 50,000 now.
