No big deal bro. My truck is 2WD so they front doesn't have to be done.. $400 on labor, and they said about $500 for parts.. $900 out the door.. diff shop quoted me $500 Labor and $500 for Parts. So almost the same.

Yukon gears are top notch. I wish Yukon would make a true locker for the Tundra.

    None, yet....
Yukon is premo in the jeep world. I have Yukon gears on the front and rear of my ton axles on my jeep. They make zip lockers, or their version of the air actuated lockers, which are also pretty good. Ran those in Dana 30 and Dana 44, prior to my 1 ton swap and dual ARBs. You should have no worries using them.

I have ran Nitro and Yukon gears exclusively for a long while. I have yet to blow up a set on my light use Jeep.

I think Motive Gear may be coming out with something bigger. At least that's what Matt over at MCM Fab said. He is on 37's and wanting to go bigger than 4.88. Get a price from him. I'm gonna have him to my 4.88's front and rear. Don't know price yet. Give him a call he local here in Vegas.

Like stated above, from my research and what I was told, almost all gears come from the same manufacturing plant. People just put their names on them. Call Just Diffs. They can give you clear info. Good luck with all Jay.......

Well I guess what I'm asking is the only ones available for our truck is 4.88 , if they're all made in same place can we just put some bigger ones on that aren't 4.88 like the 5.whatevers ????even if it doesn't say for Toyota ?

Just Diffs is where I got my quote for an ARB air locker and Auburn Gear true LSD. Beat all legit competitors pricing. Should be a vendor here, even though at least one individual here last night would think I'm "pushing" a vendor for some evil reason........ We don't have have a lot of options unfortunately.....

No. The gear sets are housing specific.

There just isn't a huge demand for them right now Jay.

Unfortunately 4.88s is the only option for regearing our Tundras. I'm very happy with my G2 gears and Auburn LSD differential! Make sure if you replace used gears you also get the bearing kit. You can see the beating kit on the right side. You don't want to use your old bearings on brand new gears. It's better and easier to start with all new parts while it's already taken apart. Good call on the bearings. When you get your quote on the parts and install, tell them you want the R&P and a major kit (axle bearings, axle seals, pinion bearing, pinion seals etc). I am not sure if they will go bigger then the 4:88's on our trucks. Manufacturers usually build stuff based on demand, they may feel 4:88's are enough for the 37's that most people max out with. Jay I think you will be very happy with the 4:88's as it brings your RPM right close to stock. As you already know 37's are big and heavy, so no matter what gears you have, you still have much heavier tires to rotate and brake. I know when I put my 37's on it wasn't so much the lose in power, it was more the braking that I noticed. Now that I've had them on awhile, I can judge the braking thing much better.:burnrubber:

@Tacotundra you we're correct my friend, he said there's a company already making the 5.29 gears for our trucks.. said specs would call for 5.13's but they went over that and already in production for 5.29's.. said 4.88's are perfect for 35 tires.. brings you back to stock but 37's you're still sluggish but it does make a huge diff if coming from 4.30 gears.. so I think I'm gonna wait and hear from this guy.. Are you going to do just a rear locker since the front is an independent front suspension?
