Actually you can do quite a bit with a winch if you're also carrying several snatch blocks. I have 3, and can do offset pulls as long as there's a couple anchor points. For instance, pulling yourself forward at the same time you're pulling sideways so you won't roll down a mountainside.

    Some stuff
Take a peek at today's post on Icon's IG page. There's a fantastic example of what not to do in a rollover recovery. Cringe worthy. Jeepers.

Anyway, I carry ARB's Essentials recovery kit. There are 2 versions, Essentials and Premium, with the difference being the winch line damper and an extension strap. I'll be picking up both once I get the new bumper/winch on the truck. I also carry some extra snatch blocks. I'm also a huge fan of the stuff from Factor55. I have a Flatlink for the winch and a set of Shorty Straps.

There's also the HiLift. There's two tricks I've learned over the years after watching someone smash their HiLift all the way through their passenger door. Start out with the base closer to the vehicle than the top. This way, as the vehicle gains height, the HiLift will naturally straighten towards vertical rather than aiming at your car. Two, open the door.
