Hi guys, are any of you into longe range shooting? I was trying to get into it with a friend but he has moved. Any of you want a shooting buddy that needs to learn?

I would love to, but down here in Alabama, anything over 300 yards is considered completely unnecessary. Even on a power line, the hills will keep you from seeing any targets farther out than that. I know of only one range that has a 200 yard station, and there are only two stations with that range.

We have a 6 position 300 yd range at our club (east of Montgomery) and once we cut timber on our other land we plan on an 800yd. East Alabama has a 300yd with both stand/sit and a prone platform.

    To much to list:)
Do you have access to a 1000 yards or better?

Utah has some long ranges in the Northern part of the state.

That's good to know. Maybe I need to limit my comment to LA.

I know there is a mile long+ range somewhere in bama. Check out Alabama arsenal on YouTube. Good videos but what ever range he goes to is loooong.

Couple spots near here where you can get to 1000. And you can always go out to national forest land as long as you're not around people/buildings and there's no fire restrictions. I thought there was a range south of denver where they do precision rifle stuff?

I'm not sure of south but I know we have 1 east. I need a mentor more than a range.

I do most of my long range shooting in NE CO. PM me if you're interested in going sometime and we might be able to link up. I live in Broomfield, too.

I used to be a member of a range here in Phoenix, AZ and it had a 1000 yd range. You had to take a written test and once passed the range master would always be with you monitoring your shooting. Once he felt you were comfortable and follow all safety rules you would get a pass you go in alone. They were strict because there is a big hill/mountain but if you grossly miss that bullet is out in a local neighborhood
