My old girl is not very stable and I needed to make the floor flat so she could keep her balance.
Originally was going to do the whole thing but the jack and associated brackets were going to be an issue. Plus I would have needed a place to carry the jack if I moved it. So I just removed the 60 side.

    She approves.

What we do for our dogs

Awesome stuff guys. Nice to see people taking care of their pups. They are family after all.

I'll be replacing our 6 month old OEM need bars with something more dog friendly so she doesn't get her paws stick in the gaps and adding Husky mats.

I would rather have a safe area for the pup's than seating for passengers back there. I like dogs WAY more than people

How do you get the pup up there? Pick her up? Ramps?

I tried a ramp for my pup but she didn't like it much. I think it needs to be longer with less of an angle. She has arthritis in her back legs so she gets picked up and put in the back. At 110 lbs it's a bit of work, but it makes sure I keep up with my squats.

I made one for my crewman for my dogs. Mine just fits back there with the seats folded up. Made one that went all the way across the back then we had a kid so I had to build one that only went 2/3 of the way across so my daughters car seat can fit back there.

Nice work! I wish I had a dog—but think this 3 piece "modular" setup I built recently would work for one. A three pieces are 18" wide: 2 pieces for the "60" side, 1 piece for the "40" side.

This is along the lines of what I would like to do for my truck. What are the pieces resting on?

That particular one looks fancy, with metal brackets and stuff. for mine, I just used plywood for the platform, and then 2x4 supports to level it out.

They are on some of those "L" shaped floating shelf brackets. I had some laying around and they worked great for this.

Cant go wrong either way

My 90# yellow lab didn’t like the ramp I got for him at first, regardless of how steep it was. It took some dedicated training for sure, but eventually he got it. I’ve found those pup cups they give you at coffee drive-thru places can cause some fierce motivation to load up and go. THEY NEVER FORGET
