I just tell my work I'm working from home when it snows. Who needs to drive in it and then spend $10 in car wash money to clean off the undercarriage only to have it coated again for the 1/2 mile trek home from the car wash?

I'd personally recommend putting the weight up between the wheel wells, not at the very back. While having the weight as far back as possible will maximize the effect on the rear wheels, it could reduce the weight on the front wheels, which do most of your braking and turning. Also, keeping the weight towards the center of the truck makes it easier to turn or change direction.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree. But keeping the weight over the axle means I'd have to buy more wood and screw a frame thing together. But I'm just lazy so I did it this way.

Question for the panel. Any harm in having 4hi engaged and parking, leaving until the next morning. Situation I'm seeing is pulling into the driveway in snow already and expecting a lot overnight and having to move out in the a.m.?

A lot of people in Knoxville Tennessee struggle with the snow. Hills, ice, and driving too fast. Rear wheel drive trucks just don't do well.

At least people had the sense to pull over last night and walk.

I leave mine in 4WD for weeks at a time and have never had an issue.

I'll place my truck in 4x4 over night if we are expecting snow the next day. Never had any issues.
