It would have been a tweaked and tuned 5.0 with displacement on demand. And the dod systems dont get the best reviews

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
What? Displacement on demand systems are great! At least if you enjoy failed lifters, and damaged cam shafts.

If a person wants to avoid turbocharged gasoline engines, and displacement on demand systems the choices in new trucks are the Titan, and 3/4 ton and up trucks.

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t see how this passed the first iteration. What were they thinking? Let’s take the function out of SUV!? I hunt and fish that no way would I own a Sequoia.

If I hunted and fished, I'd rather have a truck than an SUV anyway.

I get that there are other things to worry about like passenger access to the 3rd row and other parts underneath the vehicle like the driveshaft, exhaust system, fuel tank, etc…

I just can’t imagine that sitting that battery on top of the rear diff was really the absolute best solution. I would think finding a way to put it under the second row (like the Tundra) would be more ideal. No cargo mess in the rear. Maybe the 3rd row still wouldn’t be able to stow, but make it removable at least! Like the older Suburban seats…
Reminds me of this pic I saw on Mud. This guy hunts out of a 200 series. You’d need a trailer for anything larger, but still. Very cool. I’ll take the Cruiser and that fuel price, please.

Another night of driving and I gotta say I’m enjoying the platinum over the TRD pro. I love the way the TRD pro looks there’s no doubt and it holds its value .

but the platinum isn’t really missing much of the TRD pro uniqueness and what you gain is pretty great. I love the all black head liner, the power adjustable steering wheel, has the same piped in noise for exhaust which I like. The AVS seems very smooth and comparable to the TRD pro suspension. I love the power running boards and bed step. The blue ambient lights are unnecessary but I love them. Go find me on the ford forum for how pissed I was ford deleted it and I’m glad I have it back and looks so great. The steering radius and control although on paper isn’t much of a difference between the pro i gotta say feels like a big difference in application. It’s much easier to navigate and steer.

my only true complaints right now is the chrome mustache has to go, and the OEM all weather mats it came with are slicker than shit.

edit: forgot to add that the seat pitch and height sucks, just like my pro did. I have the seat jackers at home still so I know it’s only a temporary complaint.

Ya that killed it for me too, no way I could take that on vacation with a family of 4 , the cargo area is tiny

I have a TRD Pro en route today and should be available for me Friday. Wanted a Limited or 1794, but when this came up, and for MSRP, I had to jump on it.

Hopefully DrZ the ride quality isn't too bad. The ride quality of the RAM limited with air suspension was the number one reason I wanted to stick with RAM.

The ride quality isn’t bad. And it’s been 2 months since I’ve had my 22 pro. So I just may have forgot.

but the sport+ in my platinum is nice. My only definitive I can say on the platinum over pro is the turning radius is better and I like the all black headliner lol

Power running boards should be called shin busters. I love them but if you ain’t getting in and need to grab something watch out

I’ve never had power running boards, how do they handle snow and ice accumulation?

Too lazy to take a pic but my 23 has that extra piece of vertical weatherstripping between the front and rear doors. Maybe that helps with wind noise?

my test song, A milli- lil Wayne, played fine without the door rattle like I had in my pro. Could be too new but for now it’s not there

Mine were problem free, drove through lots of slush and then sub 20*F temps, they had enough power to break the ice built up and open/close without problem. Same with heavy snow driving so far, but haven't been in snow deep enough it may be a bad idea to let them extend.

Not well from what I hear and see. I've seen a lot of them around here that are just permanently extended because they crapped the bed.

My dad says he uses either bike chain lube or chain saw lube to keep his fresh.

The current TNGA-F platform is clearly too compromised to allow a competitive entry for Toyota, or particularly Lexus in the full size body on frame 3 row SUV market.

The packaging of the mechanicals, the stick axle out back, and the battery location are deal breakers in the segment. Everyone else does it better, and the vast majority of buyers in the segment could give a rat’s ass about off road ability, or even off road pretending. They want a giant 3 row station wagon that sits up high, can haul a lot of people and luggage in great comfort, maybe tow a boat, and go in all weather. That’s where the money is at in the segment.

These guys sum it up pretty well:

I have the problem with the whistle at high speeds too on my driver’s side mirror on my 2023 Tundra. I took it to the dealership and told me Toyota supposedly know about the issue and there’s a bulletin out there about it, waiting on a redesign or fix for the problem, but it can get pretty annoying at times, specially when you already know it’s there.

Here you go, read this page for the diagnostics step. And this thread on everything wind noise relayed.

Ask dealer to replace your driver side window rubber runner for the window. It fixed it for me.

the big deal breaker was the storage compromise. have 2 gsp hunting dogs, i fold the 2nd row on the 4runner and let the dogs roam while taking them to the dog groomer (i specifically optioned out a non 3rd row 4runner for this). bonus for them when i roll the rear window for them. also losing the roll down window on the sequoia was another miss.

too bad cause i was really liking the new tree and upgrading from the 4runner. now i am just waiting for the 6th gen to release.

I am having issues with my Platinum. When the AC set to 63 on one side and 74 on the other (head and feet) the feet blow at over 120 degrees. Since it does that on every Tundra 2022 and above its considered normal unless more people complain to the dealerships. 40 to 50 degrees more than the display says is a massive issue. The fact the AC on Lo blows hard and not on Hi is an issue.
I've had issues with my cameras, with the moulding, the massive display, wind noise and my car shutting down for who knows what reason on the FWY.
Last, the way the hood is designed is horrible. At certain times of day the glare from the sun off the hood hits me in the face and blinds me. no using the sun visor for that. Was almost in an accident because I was blinded and it took a bit for my vision to come back and sit at a different angle. The down angle of the hood closest to the driver is a really bad design.

Anyways, there are a lot of days I wish I would have waited for the Dodge 2500 Cumings.

AISIN transmissions have lots of issues. None available in the US or Canada for replacement. Can't even start a lemon law or buyback process if you have a failure because the dealer is considered to be making "best effort" if there are no parts.
