Not sure I'd call this a build, but we snagged a 2014 GX460 with super low miles for a '14 (78k) and gave it a little facelift.

Here it is the day we brought it home:

We were upgrading her from a 2012 GX with higher miles, so we took the opportunity to swap around a few parts between vehicles. First order of business was to swap over the red taillights.

Next up, we swapped over her wheels and tires...OEM 4Runner wheels with 265/70r17 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires.

Then I convinced my wife that she definitely needed some 5100's. I had them keep it low key and do the .85" lift setting to keep just a little bit of rake.

Then it was time for the big facelift. Swapped on an OEM 2020+ front grille, and some Alpharex 2020+ style headlights.

Thanks! It's a killer road trip vehicle, took it to Brian Head last year for a family ski trip and it handled the icy/snowy roads like a champ!

Dig this! Man that front grille is a super killer facelift! Those 5100’s give it a nice stance too.

Thanks man! It was funny, I told my wife I was going to do the swap and she questioned whether that was really necessary, but after it was done she was so glad I did the swap. Totally worth the cost. The ride with the 5100's is great, just a hair firmer than stock, but still super smooth.

Yep, super easy direct swap. Just gotta buy the upper and lower grille pieces, and the emblem. You can make the old emblem work, but the new emblem is a different style emblem, and I wanted to get it as close to 2020+ as possible so I figured it was worth the extra $85 for the new emblem.

The headlights are not required for the swap...you can just do the grille, but since you have to remove the bumper shell to do the grille and the headlights, I figured we might as well go all the way while we had the thing apart.

Scored a good deal on some OEM 18" wheels, and decided to try out the new BFG Trail Terrains in a 255/70r18 (measures out to 32.1" x 10"). Pretty happy with the look. Will be interesting to see how they do in the dirt/snow.

Got bored, and swapped out the rear emblem to a 2020+ emblem to match the front:

Currently this thing has the steering wheel that's all leather, but the leather feels pretty shiny/pleather-ey. Debating pulling the wheel while the wife is visiting her family this summer and having a local upholstery guy redo the wheel. Had the same guy do a steering wheel on a previous F-250 of mine and was really happy with what he did:

Thanks! Was shocked at how easy the swap ended up being. Watched a few videos from GXBob on Youtube and it was a piece of cake.

Thank you sir! Now if I could just convince her that she needs some 2.5's and a little more ride height...

Moved ours onto some 17 inch SCS stealth wheels and went up 1 tire size, my wife is short and until it gets better running boards she doesn't have to climb much.

Ironman seems to have some decent options along with Dobinsons for suspension choices

Yeah, that's what I keep telling her, she's already got running boards so it'd be fine. I think she just doesn't want it to look super modified, and I get that. Still won't stop me from trying to get her to do more mods lol.

Nice! Congratulations! We had a 2017 that I built up on 35s. Traded to buy my tundra. The gx is a solid rig.

Oh yell yeah, that thing looks great! We had a 2012 for a year before this one and I was really impressed with it. Thing would handle just about anything we needed it to.
