I originally purchased a Tuffy insert and their ad is incredibly misleading, it isn't an insert as I define it, it is more of a locking lid but leaves the sides of the console unprotected where someone could cut into it with not a lot of difficulty. I sent it back and bought the one from Lockerdown. This unit is a beast! It is easily installed and steel all the way around. I had a local holster maker here in the Salem Oregon area make me a holster with a flat backing and a 3 mag holster also with a flat backing and doublestick velcro'd them to the interior and I am absolutely loving it. On the safe, there is a variety of locks you can pick from. I picked the top end electronic keypad. You can input a custom code from 1 to 15 digits. Anyways, I thought I would share that with you all as well as some pictures of the finished product. If you are interested in some quality holsters and a fair price. The holster maker is Survival Sheath Systems, 253-380-9431, the owner's name is Robert and I have as of these had him make me 4 holsters. He is also great at custom work as well.

Love mine! I had one in my Tacoma as well. I like that mag holder ... might have to call and get one made.

I do like having the vault however my only complaint was not being able to use the console organizer on top. I guess we have to give to get.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
It's a great system and an awesome mod, one of my favorites!IMG_0401.jpgIMG_0402.jpg

You guys store your firearms in you truck or is this only for a few moments while you're in a gun free (shoot here, shoot here) zone? If the latter, both safes serves the purpose.

What are these gun free zones you speak of? Personally, I don't honor gun free zones or any business that does not honor the US second ammendment as written.
My vault is for a back up pistol if needed. EDC is always on my person.

I did this setup for to always have a back up with me when I am out an about in addition to my EDC. Also for days when I know I am going to have to go into places I can't take my EDC such as the courthouse, post office, etc.
