My son gave me a lighting kit for the cab and bed of my 2021 Tundra for Christmas. Everything he installed works great offering significantly better lighting than the OEM bulbs. With the kit came a small LED light that plugs into one of the USB ports in the dash.

This is strange. When plugged into the two USB ports in the "center" of the row of four ports (three built in and one provided with a cigarette lighter adapter), the light will blink on and off intermittently. By that I mean it will stay on for a few seconds to a minute, turn off for a few seconds, then turn back on. When plugged into the far left port or the cigarette lighter USB, it doesn't blink. I even bought another little light and it does the same thing. I thought about a bad fuse, but suspect that a single fuse serves that entire row of USB ports.

Quite honestly my local Toyota dealership leaves a lot to be desired. I thought I'd post here and see if any of you have experienced this issue and/or have a suggestion of what could be causing such a strange blinking?

Do you have a link of some type to show what this is/supposed to do? I'm unaware of the type you're speaking of. Sounds awesome but we can help troubleshoot if we know what it is...?

Here is the Amazon link to the entire kit and the eBay link to just the little light I bought when I thought the dash light that came with the kit was bad. Both blinked in the two middle USB ports on the dash.

Off the top of my head, I'd guess the power supply is insufficient. Or rephrased, the lights draw more current than the circuit can safely supply. The wires to those USB plugs are tiny. It should be easy to test if you can jury rig a different method of supplying power

Well, I've plugged the little lights into two computer USB ports and light up and stay lit up. Seems to me if these two USB ports could supply enough current to charge cell phones, they dang sure should be able to illuminate a tiny LED bulb.
