I'll give it a shot in the morning before I load it up to take to the dealer.

You are getting fuel to the carb? If not check inside the gas tank and see if there is any gunk restricting the fuel to the carb.

Hmm, with spark this should have given some result. Basically the same as another poster had suggested to put fuel into the cylinder. I have to do this to my moms snowblower at the start of every season and then it runs fine for the season.

At least it is under warranty, but my guess is like others have said the jet needs to be cleaned.

I was having some issues with mine last season, was going to rebuild the carb and do a bunch of other maintenance over the summer but of course I didn't so I just did all that yesterday in prep for snow that we are finally supposed to get tomorrow, better late than never lol.

You need a narrow flat blade screw driver to get that jet out, soak it windshield washer fluid or carb cleaner and blow it out w compressed air.

Also watch that pin holding your float on, they can slide out with the bowl off. Looks like yours is on its way…

Jet is clogged for sure. If it were me, I would buy a spare carb and keep it on the bench. They are so cheap it’s easier to swap out than mess with trying to keep cleaning it. The. You can have spare parts and have one all clean and ready to go at all times.

hopefully you get her fired up and ready to work

So I ended up taking it in to Honda. Sounds like it was a combination of bad gas and the timing being off.

Nope. That gas was less than a month old and ethanol free. Supposedly anyways. I run nothing but Shell Premium in my small engines.

    On a positive note.......
Blower is getting fixed, you are helping a local business. Once fixed...have the tech bring out the blower to clear your snow to be sure it's working properly. Tip is negotiable ......

The Honda dealer is a good outfit. They wouldn't come clear the driveway for me though. LOL

Glad you got it fixed. In general, if an engine was running fine the previous season, it wouldn’t have lost compression during proper storage. So that leaves fuel and spark. To try and start if you suspect fuel or fuel delivery problem, it’s safer to use a shot of carb cleaner than ether. Checking for spark is pretty simple. If you have spark, and it fires and dies on carb cleaner, then you check fuel, lines, clogged filter, carb. If you store an engine with ethanol fuel and you don’t use an ethanol specific fuel stabilizer, you have a good chance of finding crud in the carb. The ethanol will start to gel and eventually become almost like fine sand.
