    Hello all,
Just signed up so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Hodgi, I'm a full time E6 in the Air Guard. I recently started looking for a full size pickup and ended up falling in love with the 3rd gen Tundra. Long story short, I traded my 2017 Colorado Z71 for a 2023 Tundra SR5 with TRD package!

Some things confuse me about it though.

The main thing is that I don't know is why Toyota decided to go with no inner fender liners on either the front or back wheel wells. I'm talking about the inboard areas into the engine bay up front, and undercarriage/bed in the back, not the liners going forward, up, and aft of the tires. I asked the sales rep what the deal was and he said that all Tundra's do not have them, and Toyota does not even offer factory options. Hopefully he was being truthful to me. Anyone know why they went this route, and if there are any available aftermarket?

Another item is the awful rear view mirror! I understand I don't have that high of trim for the integrated electronics, etc. but it seems like they put a damn 1995 Camery mirror in it! It's a full size truck, how about a little wider/longer mirror Toyota!

Wireless android auto is neat and I really like it. The handle lock/unlock is cool, and push to start/prox key is awesome! I've never had a vehicle like that so I'm enjoying it! It seems, like others here, I can't master the key fob auto-start function though. I usually just end up locking the truck a bunch of times and using the app to start up.

I don't plan on doing much to it though. Other than driving thru cut corn/bean fields and cow pastures/prairies I don't go off-roading. I've added my old dashcam (Rexing v1p front/rear view), not a fan of the 12v outlet placement but I made it work. I wanna put some of those tailgate/grill inlays on. I'm thinking matte black w/red trim for the tailgate, red TRD inlay for the grill, and chrome Tundra for the grill too. My truck is the metallic grey with the chrome accents btw. Anyone have a good reputable site for those?

I didn't think I would like that color very much, but I'm starting to dig it more and more I see the black/chrome badging and trim against the dark grey paint.

Sorry for the long first post! I look forward to scrolling through everything here and seeing what I can learn!

That might have to wait until morning when I can take one. Luckily I just ran it thru the wash this evening!

    Welcome!

I have the same question regarding the inner fender liners and where I can buy ones to cover up all of the important stuff from dirt that's flying from the wheel wells!

If I absolutely cannot find someone that sells them I think I will try and mold some kydex to at least come up with SOME protection. I tried to mock something up with cardboard, but it did not go as easily as I thought it would.

I can't believe Toyota thought that it was a good idea to leave that much exposed, especially the rear wheel wells. A person could quite literally reach and arm in and start cutting wires that run down the frame if they wanted to.
