This was just on the local news Cst z thieves prey on the trucks at the Astros parade. They interviewed a lady and it seems all the Toyota trucks that were in one place against a fence were gotten!! What a dang shame. I think this lady got her cats back as they were in a pile and they stated a patch job got them home. So the punks didn’t get all of them!! The PD was not able to say how many people were affected!!!

The Astros pitcher Verlander could have taken the 25 million I think it was for the 23 season but he declined and now he is a free agent!! WTH!!! Like 25 mill for one season just isn’t enough!!!!! This is why I do not get to involved in sports!! Football I kind of understand because you can get banged up and you are screwed for life !! I know!! Living in pain 24/7 is not a life. But baseball c’mon man give me a break!! The money these guys get paid is ridiculous!!

    When is enough enough????

You don’t become as good as he is by being satisfied. I know a guy that batted against him in college and said his curveball made him dry heave in the box.

Its actually a pretty decent exit. He didn’t complain. He didn’t demand more. He just said no thanks and is moving on. Respect to the guy. He helped bring two rings to Houston. I wish him the best.

This is probably more driven by his agent. His job is to get him more money. They probably want a 3 year deal. Some team may offer him 80-100 mill. (Or more) For 3 years.
At that point he will most likely not earn that money, especially in the 3rd year.
I am sure the Astros will make a good offer but may not over pay.
If he leaves for more money the Astros will be just fine. We have lost Springer, Cole, & Correa and won the WS.

Oh by no means I do not care if he leaves. I just think that turning down 25 mill for one season is crazy!! Going to a professional sports game takes a heck of a lot of money for a family of four and it is because they have to make the money back that they pay to these players!!

Money grubbin agents are exactly the culprit. Bryce Harper's agent is Correa's agent. Bryce's record breaking contract is dangling on a hook in front of Correa which is why he has zero loyalty to any team who won't pony up what the agent says he's worth.

Not sure what you mean - maybe he decided he is worth $1M per start so he is going to get it. To you and I, it’s a game. To him it’s business.

You hear about it coming out the last offseason the Braves matched the Dodgers offer to Freddie Freeman but his agent never told him because he wanted Freeman to go to LA… Freeman found out 6 months later and fired him. That’s crazy.

My guess would be on top of commissions, etc. that the agent/agency receives for his contract, someone within the LA organization greased the shit out of the agent's palms to withhold the info. Anytime that kind of money is involved, things get dirty; regardless of the basis for the transaction. The sad part to me is that the average fan can no longer afford to take their family to a few games each season, due to costs; nor can you just turn on the TV and watch your favorite team play without subscribing (paying) for access to the televised games. We ponied up to the whole MLB experience once several years ago, and struggled to have a seamless viewing experience throughout the season. MLB would tell you, it's just a glitch, we'll get it fixed, etc. blah blah blah...

The whole 'experience' really left a bad taste in my mouth, plus the spirit of the game is no longer what is used to be. I guess it's consistent to the "progression" of most things these days.

And DeGrom to the Rangers. I’m sure they’ll keep on enjoying 3rd place in the division.

Baseball ain't like football where a good QB can have a team do a 180.

The Mets don't necessarily need a 180, they had a pretty good season.
It's the playoffs where they need the help.
