I just picked up a new-to-me ‘21 SR5 in cement after having to sell my super white TRD Sport back in 2021. I really want to grab a cement grill and hood bulge to get rid of the chrome. I’m wondering if I were to purchase the 2017 TRD Pro grill, would the 18+ style grill insert be a direct fit into the 14-17 grill? As far as I know the only way to get a factory painted grill in cement is to purchase the 2017 pro grill. If I’m wrong and there’s a factory 18+ in cement please let me know. I’m also assuming the ‘17 grill and hood bulge will be a direct fit for my 2021. Any help is appreciated. Thanks y’all.

Im going to go ahead and assume 18-21 is different because of the TSS sensor in the emblem.

Here is an option on the relocation bracket, I do not have any personal experience with this item, fyi: https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/TSS-Relocation-Bracket-c70616008

Here is something I just ordered about a week ago, still waiting for it to arrive. Swapping my 21 Sport grille for the Pro grille. As long as it's a quality product, I'm less concerned about OEM. My review on it is TBD, good online reviews tho.

I went back and forth on trying an aftermarket insert, but decided on an OEM TRD Pro grill for my 19. Since Toyota did not offer a Barcelona Red Pro for 18+, I am getting an Army green one and will be swapping grill parts (grill surgery). So, if anyone is interested, I will have an Army Green Surround and Platinum insert available in the coming weeks!

Semantics question; are you wanting to change out the SR5 grille insert or just the chrome that surrounds it? If you are wanting to keep your grille insert (which currently houses your tss sensor) and swap it over to a painted surround and hood bulge then you can buy the older style grille assembly in cement, and swap out the insert it comes with with your original sr5 grille insert and tss sensor. I did exactly this with my tss sensor equipped 2018 SR5. Keeps your original grille insert but replaces all the chrome with cement. I've not seen anything that says that the 14-17 surround and hood bulge aren't interchangeable with the 21. If you are wanting to change the insert over to the older style 'pro' insert than you will need a relocation bracket for the tss sensor.

That's a nice price for the insert. Even comes with the garnish cover piece! I'll be watching for your review on this. I've been kicking this idea around to change it up a bit.

I have the updated pro style insert with tss bracket brand new in box from my old sport that I never got to use. I’m just looking to make sure the painted surround from a ‘17 will accept the ‘18+ insert and it seems like it will. As long as the cement color matches up with my 21 I should be in business.

    Pretty good idea from "chromestoppers".
Anybody have a place that deals with the Sport hood bulge? I have a buddy that has a 2016 and he wants to add the bulge but evidently can't find an aftermarket one as opposed to the OEM cost.
