WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR 3RD GEN TUNDRA TODAY?

Saw this new platinum hybrid parked and decided to take picture next to it. You can see difference in hight my black platinum has a RC leveling kit and silver looks stock. Rear suspension looks to be same hight

 

The decal is ridiculous lol. I started my drivers side and didn’t finish. Been driving around with a half decal and looking like it’s got a rat bite haircut. Tried the heat gun approach and no heat gun approach and left me stumbled.

I ordered a decal removal wheel and that still doesn’t work.

 

@musahi66 I am thinking more and more that I need to get the bed step because now that I lifted my Tundra its getting harder to get in the bed lol.

 

While I can get in without trying too hard, using this is so much easier. My knees aren't getting younger. And, that Black Friday deal was too sweet to pass up.

 

Today I added a jumper cable kit with plug to get power to the rear of the truck to power a winch on a trailer I have.

The red definitely stands out. Really looks good!

 

Is it fused close to the battery? Hate to see the insulation wear thru to short to chassis, will set your truck on fire.

Regrettably, no, I don't. That has always been a concern, but I have never put any protection. I have had this setup on trucks for 35 years without issue, but I definitely think it's a good idea. I would be interested in finding something suitable to do the job.

 

I used a Jumper cable kit from Amazon. I chopped off the clamp ends and replaced them with battery terminal lugs. As the other fella mentioned, it would be wise to fuse protect it.

Should I fuse protect my winch? Its mounted up front and the cables run all the way into the backseat of the truck where the battery is on the hybrid

 

It would certainly seem like a good idea. I did see on a thread here somewhere that someone mentioned a power interupter for a winch.

Threw in the WeatherTech HP’s. These are more rubbery than the usual WeatherTechs. I really like them but they don’t make them for the back yet

 

Added TRD Air Filter. Can definitely hear the turbo spooling a little more now. Time will tell on any MPG improvement. Should provide less air flow restriction than stock.

Ceramic Tint all the way 70% on windshield, and the rest to match the rear seats - xpel ppf on the front facing body parts and lights/mirrors. Ceramic coated.

 

what do you think of the 70 on the windshield? I just got my windows done, and was thinking about the windshield. Never done it before, and had some concern about vis at night.

 

70 is great at night. It knocks out the glare from oncoming traffic well while not interfering with seeing out.

The only downside is if you are in a state with inspections for several obvious reasons.

 

I drove home with it, from the detailer last night, so not a lot of experience with it so far, (and this is the first time I've done this on the windshield) and it started getting dark as I was getting home, and it was impossible to tell there was a film there. Living in SWFL, the sun is brutal, I'm thinking of doing this in my S5 Audi as well. I've got the other windows already, but didn't do the windshield yet.

Is it noticeable power difference? We just did one on my buddies Supra and it was night and day!

So what, he has a rwd truck. Tbh I use 4x4 rarely as well, but dealers in my area order like 95% 4x4.
