Went and got our Tree up the road from house. Chased couple hundred turkeys off the road and seen some massive heards of deer (BIG mulie bucks mixed in).

Ahem..... I've never seen a road salted here. I live less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean, so surface rust is pretty common from the salt in the air. It's nothing compared to what you guys deal with over there. Then again, we don't see snow unless we go up a mountain, to at least 4k elevation. Even then theres no salt, we just put on the tire chains
wow. I rack nearly 10X the miles/yr that you do

New wheels finally on. Seems to have made my steering wheel shimmy at highway speeds go away changing to hub centric wheels...
    Last pic old wheels.

I went to school in Ohio, and they used black coal cinders from the nearby power plant.

I never did. Eric at Serra Toyota was the one looking into it for me, so that might be the problem. I know they don't have parts numbers at the ship, so Toyota corporate is the only shot. I installed some I bought off Sponge B, and have these other ones in the shed. Junkyard is honestly the best bet

Interesting. I’ve seen vehicles from Ohio that were covered in a nice orange rust patina. I always thought they were one of the worst states for laying down salt and brine.

Ok cool. Thanks or the reply, I’m just going to get a random assortment of bolts and see what works then.

They only used sand here in Oregon until just recently when they started using salt on a few of the worst roads for snow/freezing and only then if it's really, really bad. Our Babe the Blue Ox has been here all of its life (pushing a quarter-million miles) and only has a bit of surface rust underneath. It was a true work truck and the original owner dinged the paint down to the metal in a couple of places and even those aren't rusting out.

Brother-in-laws are in Minnesota. Not pretty under their vehicles. :(

I type this as snow drifts down outside our windows. 38 degrees though, so it's not sticking. That'll happen in the next couple of months though.

Finally changed out the downstream 02 sensors today and reset the drive cycle.

Will see how the new ones do for my 100+ round trip travel to Scituate and back. Also took out the locking gas cap and put back on the original to avoid evap leak codes as well just for this test run.

The old sensors look nasty with the dealings I had from water in the gas tank and 130k+ miles since they were last changed. Upstream ones are next but may wait till spring.

“Up north” like others have said, they use cinders to sprankle the road with.

haha I almost asked what's up with the dog food. Never seen that brand/product before.:monocle:
Truck looks great btw. I hadn't realized the Waltrip's had the fenders flared in the body like that, rather than bolted on. That's gotta be the best looking body style they made these trucks in. Yep, I'm sure of it.
If only it were an AC.....:crapstorm:

@Snowkitty What kinda flare is on the T3?

FNW wheels. Overlander is the name of the wheel. Company from California. Guy is super cool, seems really knowledgeable. New what wheels I had in my truck from description best part is he has an 05 Tundra so he's gonna know what fits that he sells and what doesn't better than some. I'd recommend.

I dreaded having to change the upstream sensors, but when I finally did them it was the connectors that caused the most hassle...you need three hands to disconnect them, and there's only room for one hand. No problem at all unscrewing them

My biggest problem is unplugging them just because of the one hand limitation.

Yep took me 30 seconds to unbolt the sensor and about an hour or more to disconnect the connector. So damn annoying!

They are. @2006 Tundra AC, if you need any install experience, I did them bed off, @FrenchToasty did them bed on. I don't think FT will mind sharing his experience if you are doing bed on.

Woohoo. Looking forward to getting these mounted this week. Kind of shocked the way these were shipped but oh well. Some light rubbing to the powder coat. I am trying to figure out why my e-brake light is coming on intermittently as well.

It's amazing how much bigger the 75R17s look vs. the 70R17s.
