My truck has been in the ship now for close to a month and a half due to mice damage under the hood.
The dealership got the lower engine harness but still have not yet gotten the upper engine harness. They ordered it 10-25.
They said it's on back order and currently none available in the country!

Has anyone one else had a simier issue?
In the meantime my insurance is covering a rent for me and I ended up with a 2021 jeep wrangler 4 door and aside from the 4 cylinder turbo engine it's a lot of fun to drive.
I may look at a v6 version. As this is the 2nd tundra I have had these issues with and it's extremely irritating.

Are you aware of the supply chain issues still going on? I work in purchasing and electronics have consistently been backordered.

Not to mention a lot of people on here have been waiting months for cats and other parts.

But if you want to move away from a Tundra to go to a jeep because of these non quality type issues, go for it.

Still lots of delays and availability issues on parts. Quite normal these days.

As far as your issues, yes irritating but rodent damage is on the owner. Manufacturers often still use soy wiring which is tasty.

Hopefully your harness comes in soon. At least you are not waiting 9-12 months on cats!

You can't blame Mice issues and your truck in the shop on being Toyota's fault.

My 2019 hasn't been in the shop for more than a day, normal maintenance or putting on OEM parts like sway bars.

Oh I'm not blaming the dealership for it as I know it's not their fault. But this has now happened to my 2016 and 2019 tundra. Same issues on both.
Over 6k in damage on each.
I am very fortunate to have my insurance cover Rodant damage.

Very fortunate! I'm not sure if it's bad luck or mice only prefer Toyotas. Read on here before that it's because the coating is soy based. There's a lot of threads on here if you search. One specifically is titled something like "F&*(^(*&( Mice!" or along those lines. I think people have had some success with remedies like peppermint oil, mice traps and even good ole kitty cat.

Hopefully this is the last you'll have to deal with it though.

I use pepermint and cinnamon spray under the hood and satchels in the passenger compartment since day 1 sadly still happened. Funny they never touch My wife's 2016 corolla, only the tundra. :(

I’ve read that parking on pavement in a well-lit area does more to keep rodents away than peppermint oil. Traps and bait stations in the garage if it’s particularly bad and you need to manage the population.

Unfortunately I live out in the woods with a 140p foot long dirt driveway.

have any outdoor cats? They get hungry.

EDIT: If you go this route, or hell, even at all, don't put poison out. If cats or other wildlife eat the mice, the poison can kill them too.

I would definitely put some ground lighting around where you park at the very least.

I park my truck outside, and this always concerns me. I've had a couple of oddball electrical anomalies in the past week that have me concerned. I'm going to do a deep inspection on the truck this weekend and am fearful of what I'll find.

I had an issue at our last house with a rat getting into the engine bay of my wife's Highlander every single night, no matter what I did. It took me a long time to figure out how he was getting in to the garage. I finally found it and got it sealed off, and eventually caught him. The garage was easier to control, but with this being outside, I haven't figured out a good way to protect the truck from rodents.

Just as a follow up, I pulled the Tundra into the garage this weekend, grabbed some work lights, and crawled in and out of every area that I could see, paying special attention to individual wires and wire bundles. Also searched for signs of rat droppings or nesting material being brought in. Lastly, I checked the vents, engine air filter, and cabin filter for signs of rodents. Happy to report that I didn't find anything amiss.
