Looking for running boards (or side steps or nerf bars) that go wheel to wheel on a crewmax cab with the 6.5 foot long bed. I want to be able to step up to access the front of the bed. I would prefer straight boards that are consistent the whole length - the three step nerf bars I've seen aren’t symmetrical - but steps in all three places is the most important spec.

any thoughts or advice is appreciated
    thanks

I have been looking for these as well but I think they will be a long time coming to market. My guess is that these need to be about 6 to 8 inches longer to reach the flare towards the back. I am not too sure how much demand is needed before the builders make these.

I was thinking about getting a raw set of sliders ie: Westcott Crewmax Sliders and having my local fabricator add the extension and maybe another mounting point for strength.

I suppose it's good to know that I'm not the only one looking. I know that the '22s and '23s are new, so it might take some time for lots of options, but I figured there might be a universal fit one that already exists. I can be patient. I'd rather the right product than one right now. Maybe someone else on here has seen something.

I was looking at the CBI website and they list a sliders for a longbox crewmax. I have emailed them to confirm that they fit.

That's great. My guess is that they fit, but they stop at the back of the rear door. That's what all of the other ones have been. I have reached out to extremeterrain.com, realtruck.com and one more that I do not remember. Nothing fits the wheel-to-wheel specs, as of right now.
But let me know what CBI says. Thanks.

You probably need sliders as PBNB mentioned but it would probably be made for a crewmax shortbed. I don't think the market is big enough for someone to make sliders for crewmax long beds and there probably won't be enough support brackets to overextend that far back.

Either way, the sliders should be longer than running boards and extend past the rear door.

Here is a slider for the 2nd gen.

Thanks. While it would be better to have it attach again towards the back, if it's strong enough and extends back enough, that's all that matters. I will check that one out.

I got a positive response from CBI on these longer sliders:

    Hello,

They should fit nicely. When looking at our sliders there will be a drop-down option for the long bed. As far as I know, the slider should go flare to flare and fit nicely.

    Thanks,

Sounds like it's time to order a set!

Glad you found 'em. You'll be a "rare bird" for sure. Congrats for not settling for what everyone else has. You made the effort and did the research....I know what it's like!:D

Those are the ones, just select the long bed option which is what the email. The other question I asked was if there is a tread installed. I would expect that these sliders will look like the photo. I am going to place an order soon and hope things work out.

Those look great, but I'm not sure if they provide enough of lower-than-the-door step. They look like they are tight up to the cab, which won't help some of the people who would need to use it. Although it would be perfect for the behind the cab part (for me). Maybe it could work.
Either way, it's great you found something, and thank you for sharing.

I am considering getting the raw steel ones and having my fabricator attach some treads and then powder coat the whole thing. I think there is enough room to get a foot hold on the outer bar.

Unfortunately the CBI units are not full length so you have a 1 foot gap to the rear flare. I was hoping they would work. I tried to get some other ones (PacRax) but the shipping seems to be a challenge to get to Vancouver. I am almost at the point of making some!

Here is a photo of the CBI sliders for the long bed crewmax. They have a nice covering as the new additions to their products but I am afraid they are too short.

Not quite what I was expecting.

I've been texting with the CBI folks this afternoon. They claim that they make them for the crewmax longbed, and that they extend past the door, and fill in that space in the circle.

Is that your truck? Did they tell you it would fit, but send ones that are too short?

    They say that this one:
    https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/3rd-gen-toyota-tundra-rock-sliders-2022/

    and this one:
    https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/toyota-tundra-overland-rock-sliders-2022-2023/

"are going to almost completely fill up the space from your front tire to the rear tire, to give you that full protection."

Not my truck (a little too much CBI advertising on it for me) but I added the white writing. This pic was sent to me by a dealer because I asked for a pic of the Crewmax Long Bed sliders. I was told that they would run flare to flare but never actually saw a picture on a Crewmax longbed until that one came to me. They do offer a dbl cab set the runs flare to flare and picks up that little gap before the back wheel, I have seen pictures of that set and they look pretty good.

If you are comfortable ordering a set based on your discussions with CBI, I would be interested to see how that goes. I do like the possibility of a covered slider like their overland version but really want to fill the length between the flares.

I am also hesitant to order these after seeing that photo as the shipping to get it up to Vancouver is a real challenge and return shipping would be just as bad.

My impression of the CBI people there was good and when I tried to get this sorted out a while ago, they were very helpful but ultimately not setup for shipping to Canada. When I look at the cost, I would be pushing $3k CDN for these with shipping and customs. Sort of sending me into a different direction especially after seeing that photo. If I was to see the overland version for my truck in a picture, that ran flare to flare, I would probably order them asap!

I tried searching for Jr_customscncfab and found a facebook link. I don’t have a Facebook account so I will try googling.

Good find. Looks like that guy is around the corner from Vancouver. Let us know how it goes.

I'll let you know if I get more info from CBI. Although now I am wondering if there is someone local that might be able to do it more affordably.

I was able to get ahold of JRC and they are not building these as they are not geared up to make them. The ones shown by TexasTacoma were made as a favor for overland.offgrid.

    So the search continues...

I found a company to make these full length sliders for our Crewmax Long bed trucks. After reaching out to the lead provided by TexasTacoma I was able to find an associate of JRC who is making sliders for all sorts of vehicles.

This would be a product made in Canada and shipped. I was told that the price for a full length set including caps over and powdercoating will be $2,650.00 (taxes and shipping extra).

Facebook link: Please note that I am not affiliated with Flex It Fabrications and only offer this link to help with this challenging situation.

I suggest that you reach out to Flex It if you are interested in pursuing this.

That's great to hear because CBI has basically confirmed what you found out (that their wheel-to-wheel will FIT the long bed, but it won't be wheel-to-wheel).

Also, it's great you found someone closer to you.

I think that their location, and that cost puts it outside my price range though, so I am going to keep looking.

I am thinking about making a few (maybe 6) sets at my local fabricator so if there was some interest, I could distribute the extra sets at cost. I know that the idea of these longer ones will eventually trickle down to the main suppliers but who knows when that will happen.

Shipping in Canada would be straight forward and even into the US by popping over the border and drop shipping. I will know more this week as this plan gets worked out.

I would definitely be interested in hearing more (final cost, as well as look).
I don't know of anyone around here that does it, but I have started looking as well.
