I picked up my mat for my Tundra. It is abut half the thickness of the one in my 2021 Tacoma. What do you think of them?

I have the 22 Toyota mat also and have hauled several items. Things don’t move around on it at all and it held up to sharp heavy objects with no damage or marks. Im happy so far.

I kind of light the lighter weight than on my 2020. When I wanted to take it out to rinse out the bed it was tough. We will see with longevity.

I'm fine with it. Stuff doesn't move around. Thick enough for what I need.

It seemed to hold up just fine this year for me and I’ve hauled a lot. Like someone else mentioned it’s nice that it’s light enough to take out to clean the mat and the bed.

I like mine, except the middle edge at the tailgate hasn't settled flat yet. I've had it for a month now and still hasn't settled. I nearly busted my ass when I got on the bed lol.

The rubber warped when a generator flipped over in the bed. Otherwise the mat has been nice.

Anyone know how long until the bed mat lays flat?

eh... I installed mine in the summer, so depending on where you are and how cold it is it could take more, but hours, not days.

I picked up this mat for a previous tundra, but ended up returning it. The mat I received appeared to have been used. It had areas that were shiny and other areas that were very dull. I also noticed what appeared to be bird poop all over the mat.

Has anyone compared the Black Armor to OEM bed mats? I see that the OEM mat is $10 more than Black Armor right now. I'm usually opposed to OEM on the basis that they are more expensive and frequently not as good as after market. A couple of things spook me about the Black Armor though:

1-BA claims that it's 2x heaver than OEM. Don't want to have a mat that is difficult for an older 65+ guy to take out and put in by myself.
2- The BA is 1/2 inch thick and OEM is 1/4. 1/4 sounds thin to me and might not take hits from heavy stuff well. But our composite beds are supposed to be tough, so maybe 1/4 is good enough and doesn't lose an extra 1/4 inch under the tonneau cover...like a 1/4 inch really matters, except for when it does.

    Inputs appreciated.

I've had bed mats in all of my trucks over the years. The OEM one is a good compromise. It is not too thick, not too thin, not to heavy, not too light, not too sticky, not too slippery. Overall I am very happy with it. If you want a heavier, stickier bed mat, go with the BA. The OEM one is not slippery by any means, but it is not really sticky either. If you have an unloaded cooler in the back and you slam on the brakes, the cooler will slide a bit. A heavy loaded cooler seems to stick just fine.

    Great info @Carolina Peej.
I'm ready to buy the OEM mat but not finding any where near the sub $200 prices that were present in 2022. Suggestions welcome.

Perfect, thanks @TexasTacoma713. How did you find that? I must have looked at a half dozen Toyota dealer websites and none of them had free shipping. Some had the same freeship code pop up with Honey app on my laptop, but it didn't work, seems to have expired at end of 2022. But this one worked and they got my business as a result. :)
