Just bought a used 2020 SR5 crewmax with 51,167 miles 2 days ago. Just noticed today the power steering is way overfilled and coolant about half filled. Cause for concern? I put about 300 miles on the truck so far. Taking it to the dealer (Classic Chevrolet Dallas) for them to fix it.

Also is this the oil filter? Saw there was signs of leaking around it but hoping it was just from oil changes. Im used to canister filters from my tacoma.

Yes it's your oil filter. The coolant pic you showed is an overflow "puke" bottle and that level seems perfectly fine especially if you snapped that at operating temp. The overfilled PS reservoir was probably filled when the engine was off - just take some out to where it's at normal levels.

A cheap turkey baster will help draw fluids out of the reservoir.

    Too many, but not enough....
My 21 still has the factory filled fluid in the PS and i noticed it was slightly overfilled as well. Not as much as yours though. I just left it alone until the next time I change the fluid.

    This.

Check the coolant overflow again when cold... should never go below the "low" line unless you mean for it to.

It'd be easy to reassemble the oil filter housing with the housing oring in the incorrect location, so easy that the "how not to do it" is printed on the filter element box. Might be worth wiping the oil off and seeing if more seeps back out.

I had the coolant topped off to full yesterday. I checked this morning as saw a bunch leaked out somehow and it's at the level it was before.

again the coolant was at the full line yesterday. I'd think it leaked out of the hose on the coolant cover cap but it looks like its dripping behind the plastic container.

Clean it, drive it, check it. See if there's a new leakage and/or a crack in the hose or the tank.

I would turkey baster all that fluid out, put new in, start truck, move steering wheel from lock to lock a few times. Stop engine, pull fluid out again and repeat. I do this on all my vehicles every 30-40k miles. The vehicles the have steering racks…very important. This takes about 30 min or 2-3 beers.

Finished a 30 minute drive and now its back to slightly over the full line.
Power steering fluid is Just slightly over where i had it when i drained yesterday. When cold the power steering sat between cold max and hot minimum.

    Glad you posted this.
I went out and checked my fluids, I thought they did that at the dealership oil changes.

I ended up putting about a half of a cup in the radiator and then filling the overflow about halfway..
I wonder if that has anything to do with my truck sitting parked for 8 months.

All the other fluids were fine...

No new leaks though like you posted about on the 2nd? Trying to eliminate leaking issues.

I like to "exchange" the power steering fluid without the engine running. All you do is remove the fluid from the reservoir, remove the return hose on the reservoir and attach it with a barb fitting to a length of hose and put in a container. Also, plug the return hose fitting on the reservoir with a piece of hose plugged with a bolt or something that fits it tight. Jack up the front of the truck to the wheels are off the ground, then refill the reservoir with new fluid. Turn the wheel left and right to force out fluid while watching the level in the reservoir. Continue to do this until you have clean fluid coming out of the hose. Then drain the reservoir and re-connect the return hose and fill the reservoir to the correct level. Whole job should take less than 30 minutes.

It's possible that you added coolant when you didn't need to and as the engine operating temp rose in the overflow, it came out of the cap.

Thats what I think I did. It vented the excess and when cooled sits low.
