I'm the furthest thing from a Ford fan, but for some reason I'm envisioning a large round or two of dense wet wood playing plinko in the bed, aided by the slippery poly bedliner and some spirited driving . Something that would thrash any pickup box out there in short order.

Are you sure firewood from inside the bed caused that damage? It appears something grab the outside top edge of the bed and pulled it outwards. If it was from inside the bed then the inside metal and outside metal would be pressed against each other. The photos show the metal pulled away from each other. Not saying it didn't happen that's way but it seams like something major happened.

Wow......either it was overloaded or dude was doing some serious Rally car driving probably both.
