2nd Gen Rodent Highway Fixed on 3rd Gen?

Does anyone know if the Gen 3 design closed the main entrance point in the wiper plenum where mice and other rodents got in to the HVAC area? It was a constant battle in my 2011 Tundra with them making nests on top of the cabin air filter.

 

I have not had anymore issues since switching to the carbon impregnated cabin air filter that they use in the LandCruiser.

I understood that the only way to fix it on the 2nd gen was to weld or glue a screen over that large opening in the plenum.

This works with this model as well. You just remove the filter and bracket and this takes its place.

 

Thanks but the cabin filter was not the issue. It was the open intake to the cabin air filter in the wiper plenum. From there they had an easy trip to the filter where they would build a nest on top.

Is there something else about the air filter in your link that is known to discourage mice to live on it?
