Anyone know the size of the opening of the bed rails? Looking to buy some T slot nuts to mount some quick fists for shovel, etc. in the bed of the truck. Has anyone done this, recommend or not? Thanks!

Awesome. Thanks. Yep, that was the spot I was looking to measure. Appreciate it.

Can anyone confirm if these are decent or are they a bit small? A couple reviews (see below) say they pull through when tightened down of not perfectly aligned.

Looking to add a few DIY things to the bed rails shortly.

"And they seem like they should
I bought these for a 2015 Tundra rail system. Others have reported that they work, and they seem like they should, with some caveats. First, they are not quite tall enough to full engage from behind the rail. If you tighten them too tight the top edge will start to come out. Second, you need to be sure you don't attach it in the notches that are cut into the rail system or it will definitely pull through and not attach properly. I would be happier with a t-slot nut that had bigger shoulders because it would fully engage the rail without risk of pulling out or going crooked."

I just ordered these as well after my Amazon ones came today. Way to small and would just catch the rail edge.

IIRC grizzly has a set of 4 nuts for $8.

Don't recall shipping, but buying 8/12 (2 or 3 sets) will be significantly less than Amazon.

I just placed an order from them and they sent me an invoice but there was never any request for payment. Do they send it COD?

We keep a card on file with them, but I'm not sure what your situation is with them. We also don't buy T-nuts from them, their price is outrageous, I just sent that link because it had all the dimensions.

Basically you want to search for a 47004T (McMaster purposely doesn't show that part number because they don't want you to know what to search for).

Thank you very much for the info. The cost was good at $3 each but I guess they get you on shipping and handling.

We buy them 1,000 at a time, so their price doesn't work for us. And yes, they will nail you on shipping.

McMaster is only good when you need something specific the next day. Otherwise there is always a more cost effective source.

Thanks....for the price and returnability, I took a chance on Amazon.ca. They should be here tomorrow, so I'll give them a try soon.

Well the strange thing is they sent the order. I got a invoice from them saying they sent them and shipping was $8. I had actually forgot about the order and place an order through Amazon. Still no payment request but the invoice says to mail the payment to them. Strange way of doing business.

They want $18 just for shipping to Canada, 1 or 2 packs. Either way, that's crazy, I'll pass

I hope my Amazon ones work. You'd think there is enough market for the knockoff makers to make one that is guaranteed to fit he OEM Tundra bedrail system. Amazon and eBay is flooded with ones that are all slightly different dimensions.

With regards to McMaster, I looked after the link was posted. And as @Ruggybuggy said, I got to the checkout and there was no option for shipping so I didn't continue. Very strange website and way of doing business. They could ship them to me with zero shipping charge and then come back and expect me to pay a potential $37 shipping charge to Canada...weird. What if the customer refuses to pay?

Exactly, ship to my location in the US was $8 and even that's a little high but if they work I'll pay it and return the Amazon ones. If they already sent product out the door how would they get paid if someone decides to be dishonest? :spy:

I’m trying to find the ones I ordered in orders now. I paid like half that and they have been perfect. Prices could have gone up though. Wife’s order a lot of crap on Amazon so it may be a minute before I find the order lol

edit: I ordered the ones sold by bolt dropper on amazon for 11.44. They work great. Have my rtt rails and my other diy brackets for shovels etc on them no issues.

The ones I received today are too small. They just ever so slightly catch the inner lip, so would not be sure enough and easily pull through or damage the rail.

Here are the ones that do NOT work. I'll take my calipers to them later to confirm dimensions.

My height, or width in some measurements, is 7/8"/.870"/22.11mm on my calipers

But there is no way I'd trust it with this little grabbing the rail. I'll snap a pic tomorrow of it installed in the rail. Very little grabs it.

Those are like the first ones I got from Amazon. Pretty much useless and I'm sending them back and left the appropriate feedback. The second ones I got from Amazon worked perfect and are much larger in size.

So the dust has settled here from Christmas and I was able to take a few measurements and pics of the stock tie down system and the t-slots that are 7/8" from Amazon and elsewhere apparently.

As you can see, the 7/8" for the T-Slots is not very grippy. The stock height of the tie downs is almost 1", so quite a difference. I don't know how people are getting 7/8" clips to work?

    7/8" T-Slot resting in rail:

    7/8" T-Slot grip overhang:

Side by side with OEM Tie Down slot:IMG_20191227_161507.jpg

    OEM height 25.08mm or 0.987" or 64/64" (almost 1")IMG_20191227_161759.jpg
    Amazon T-Slot height 22.24mm or 0.876" or 7/8"
