Looking for suggestions on painting brake calipers. Any recommendation on brand of paint and color? Truck is magnetic gray and black. I think I'd get tired of red and would take away from look of truck but black wouldn't be noticeable.

Having a hard time choosing color. Stay dark because whole truck is black and grey or use red ...I'm afraid it'll be too much of a focal point instead of being a nice subtle touch

    Flux capacitor!
I did the black duplicolor caliper paint on my previous 2015 Tundra. I also installed black Duralast rotors at the same time. IMG_1731.jpg

There are also several styles of cover for the calipers if you want to go that route. Here is an example of one.
    IMG_8613.jpg
There's also a high temp reflective vinyl wrap for calipers by 3M now. IMG_8614.jpg

I went with silver from G2 for that factory fresh look. In the back of my mind, I'm hoping that the smoother finish will shed brake dust better too. Time will tell.

@Bundra - Did you ever decide on a color?
I'm thinking when the next brake change is due I may end up painting the calipers. Having a MGM w/ black wheels, I've wondered the same thing...subtle or pop?

I have always liked the look of a deep yellow caliper on dark sports cars. Especially with tan interior...i.e.,

    $_1.jpg

    dark-aventador-with-yellow-painted-brake-calipers-78118.jpg

I photo-shopped the pics below to spit-ball the idea of red or yellow...

    Red caliper.jpg

    Yellow caliper.jpg

    So, I ponder..............

I user the G2 epoxy kit, and bought vinyl stickers off eBay for a couple of bucks. Measured the material by weight so I could do the front one week, and the back the following week. ab40094ff6d6229f2a845d3bae6fb9be_d4dffa04b1e991006661693d8246121c1e188949.jpg

i'll go against the grain and say yellow.....would look different that's for sure!

Red would be the safer option.....

i'm going silver. keep it low key.

Yellow would be different....exactly what makes me want to do it. That and I'm planning to do change the interior to tan/brown leather.
Like I noted, I like the color combo (dark silver, tan and yellow) on cars. Just don't know how it would do on the truck.

I do like silver too. Def more subtle.

Either way, I think the logos set 'em off. I like these the best.

I've seen a lot of good results with G2. How was your experience with it? How many coats did you end up applying?

It might look good! One way to find out :devil::devil:

I'm getting some black wheels and don't want the calipers to take away from them. (MGM color over here so everything will be somewhat muted) now if I had a silver or white tundy, that just may be a different story!

    Ha! I know...
That's my ride in the pics I photo-shopped, so I'm with you on the MGM/black combo. A bright silver might look good too.

'Good bit of extra work but these look super-nice.

Its been about a year now. I did them around September last year, I think it was a Labor Day weekend project kinda thing. No Fading, Brake dust washes clean away. They still look perfect. I did the same to my car, but didn't like it... so I went to this Copper/Burnt Orange
