With my front just bout finished up, what your recommendations with upgrading the rear without having to cut into my bed and adding a bed cage?

I need to keep the cargo area of my bed for work purposes.

I know Camburg has a rear shock relocation mount but I’ve heard more bad things than good about that setup. Also no one makes red shock hoops like they do for Tacomas and 4Runners.

Not sure if they offer it anymore, don’t see it listed on the website. I run the Total Chaos under bed SUA kit, but changed/modified a little bit. Sacrifices some travel compared to the Camburg and other kits, but it’s about quality of travel - motion ratio etc., works really well. Used 3.0 bypasses instead of 2.5, and had a 3” leaf spring conversion kit made the way I wanted after being disappointed by the existing 2.25 spring options. Rear frame is fully boxed/crossmembers tubed, rear sucks without, and the bed smacks cab if it actually gets used.

3” spring conversion, everything is 4130 with bolt on hangers, all spring fasteners and u-bolts upsized to 5/8”.

    Boxed and tubed frame.

As mentioned above I would confirm if total chaos still does the kit. I believe they do it's just not listed anymore. Vizsla setup would be the option I would do if I didn't go the route I did. Retains the bed and is simple. The leaver setup is a little more involved but not to say any of this isn't lol.

I'm curious as to what bad things you've heard about that setup. I recently had it installed on my truck. Haven't experienced bad anything so far.

Only issue I've heard is the mounts not holding well and breaking.

As what @reywcms mentioned, I’ve heard that the top mounts break, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to make them stronger with additional metal and welding?

I’ve also read that the way it’s designed, the way that the suspension cycles isn’t the best. I could be wrong, I’m no suspension expert, especially in design.

would it be possible to post or send me some photos of your rear suspension setup?

Know 2 people with the Camburg kit. One broke the mount(hard use), the other has been fine(truck is one of the pics on Camburg website), but hasn’t been used hard. Suspect adding limit straps will help… It isn’t ideal for shock tuning, trying to get 15” travel out of a 12” shock has limits, but have seen them work very well when tuned properly. MCM also has something similar to Camburg that works really well, doesn’t have mount failures, but uses ADS shocks if that matters. I got to see 2 of the LSK cantilever kits, nope, but that’s my opinion.

you could be right about using limiting straps. I haven’t seen anyone running straps with the camburg setup.

may I ask why the camburg setup is not ideal for shock tuning?

I run the MCMfab LT kit on the front and the MCMfab shock relocation on the rear of my truck. I bought it like that and actually have Matt rebuilding the shocks as we speak. They were wore out from miles from the previous owner and were not maintained so I'm excited to see what the rear will actually do being rebuilt and bumps added in the rear as well. I am running ADS 3.0 bypasses in the rear

would you mind posting some photos of your rear shock relocation kit? Their site doesn’t show much. What’s length of your rear bypasses?

The pics are from when I bought the truck so bare with me, it wasn't loved very much by the previous owner.

They rears are 3.0x12 ads triple bypasses. They are getting rebuilt and new shock shafts as they were pitted when I bought them. I'm actually looking at selling the set up because I want to go with a bedcage and 3.0x16's. I do t daily drive this at the moment because it's torn into pieces

You think I could sell it on here? I'd hate to see how much it would be to ship. Matt at Mcm is rebuilding my front coilovers and the rear bypasses so I know they will be done right

Then I would go full send. I have rear bumps and front bypasses to add this winter. Getting all the fiberglass and the hood painted to match the cab as well.

you can definitely sell the take off ADS on here. who's truck did you buy? Was it someone in NV? Almost looks northern or eastern, but I don't know many trucks in those directions that got ADS/MCM.

It use to be in North Dakota, old owners name was Chris Blom, a really stand up guy! Me and him still talk! Yeah I would love to sell the set up and go to a bedcage and 3.0x16's. I'd like to have a buyer lined up before I pull the trigger but I might not be that lucky!
