Hi...I just ordered a new rear bumper (Chrome, original style) for my 2010. My question is what is the best way to refinish the plastic pads that attach to the top of the bumper??? Mine are faded black and the wipe on products don't last. Can i just paint them or what??? Thanks

I used shine supply cleaner on mine, then coated with shine supply clutch. For some reason the outside ones have maintained there finish like this for years. The center has faded again.

I'm not sure what i did to prep those outside ones.

I've heard cerokate makes a good black restorer for plastics that lasts. I haven't used it. Good luck.

You could use a rattle can spray bedliner. Bonus on giving the plastic pads a non-slip texture by doing so.

+1.....use something like Raptor Liner. AutoZone carries it.

Why not order a new plastic bumper topper and be done with it? New bumper with a new topper. Should look great for another 10 years.

Have you tried this, Walmart sells it too. The stuff is amazing. My father-in-law put it on his Tacoma flares a year ago and they still look great. My neighbor used it on his Avalanche and it also still looks great after a year. It does not wash off, even with a pressure washer. Their headlight kit is amazing as well
