So I am trying to ping down this oil leak. Its leaking from the drivers side under the valve cover. Its getting all over the AC compressor (I think its the ac compressor under there).

Is this the dreaded 5.7l valve tower oil leaks? or is this from somewhere else?

btw sorry I could not take any better pics.. this engine has no space in it..unlike other Toyota SUV engines.

Anyways I dont think the pics I took give you a good pic of where the oils leaking but maybe its a Known trouble issue and someone will say "ooh yeah thats that XYZ oil leak that leaks from XYZ place"

Here's the link of the album.. the pics as I said dont really capture the leak well...but its in the area circled in yellow above. I'll try to take better pics when I get a min.

Mines leaking the same place. It doesn't drip but everything below it is wet.
Either cam tower or timing cover. Either is not pleasant to replace/fix.

Both my cam towers look crusty with build up dirt, grime but nothing drips. is yours dripping or just crusty and clearly a leak?

I'm pretty much just leaving my alone until it leaks on the ground (no noticeable drop in oil level on the dipstick on my 150k daily driver).

Honestly your best best bet is a clean the area to factory clean, then watch it over days to see where it shows up.
    Good luck.

@triharder Yes thats exactly where its coming from. The pics you got are way way better.. so I am getting a few drips on the ground.. but like 2 drops per week I think.. so its not a lot but its annoying and if it was clear I would try to fix it..

I'm assuming its the cheese gasket (not sure why its called that) on the timing chain cover.
unfortunately its a 2 valve cover, intake, etc removal to get off and replaced.

I found this on my dad's 2010 the other day (under 90k on that one but lots of sitting in grass backyard without moving for about 1 year or more).
