Everytime temperatures begin to get cold, I get a whirring noise from the pulleys on my motor. I know this is common and I plan to replace the pulleys and belt.

I have read 10+ threads about replacement and there is conflicting information about which pulley and tensioner to buy. Can you guys help me out with the part #s? I have a 2014 CM 4X4.

Also, I am pretty mechnically inclined - installed my own lift (Aluma 2.5s and shackles), did BMC myself etc. How difficult is the pulley/tensioner replacement. I appreciate the help!

Write down your belt route so you don't install it wrong!!!!

I've done this. It fits if you route it wrong and won't squeal until you hit the gas.

I also used the green gator belt to stop the noise for a bit. I've struggled with this pretty much every winter.

replacement is easy enough. the tensioner is a left hand thread (not right, i tightened mine until it broke). i used an allen key to lock the tensioner in place. I used oem tensioner and dayco pulley (not sure i'd recommend the dayco). Hope this helps.

Might be easier to go under the truck then from above (might need to remove skid plate).

Thanks for the quick feedback. When you say the tensioner is left handed, do you mean the hex/allen bolt? I assume the tensioner 14mm pulley bolt is right handed thread.

Do these parts look ok. I plan to reuse the tensioner assembly and just replace the tensioner pulley:

ok. What about my tensioner question regarding the thread direction. Does that sound right?

Allen key locks the tensioner so you can remove the belt, it just fits in the holes when they line up.

I replaced the assembly, i don.t know the pulley bolt direction, i.d assume normal not left handed thread.

Pulley assembly is lefy handed as the spring forces the assembly in the toghtening direction.
