    Hey guys,

i have a 2016 TRD off road package. Came with steel wheels and black hubcaps for some reason.

last night I picked up TRD off road wheels, and had Duratracks put on today. They couldn’t get the wheels on (I didn’t watch them try) but said I need half shank lug nuts for these wheels. I can’t find them local. Any suggestions? Thanks.

No personal experience, but others on the site have recommended these. Also available on Amazon
    https://www.gorilla-auto.com/lug-nuts

You must have bought the truck used because afaik the TRD Offroad package includes alloy wheels.

Someone may have slapped the off road stickers on it. Every OR package I have seen had fog lights. You should shoot up a few pics of your truck, folks will easily verify with a good look. I have a 2016 OR as well. OR package has blue/yellow shocks, the OR wheels, skid/splash shields.

And on your wheels, there are 2 different types of lugnuts, one for the steel wheels and a different set for the alloy wheels-not interchangeable, wheel specific. Gorilla lugs are fine or toyota parts or local shop will have them as well. Take one of yours with you...you need the other style.

Also, TPMS is different between steel wheels and alloys, difference in the angle of the TPMS, you will need the ones for alloys if your wheels didnt come with them and you want TPMS to function, TPMS from steelies dont fit the alloys.

awesome. Thanks. I just bought these:

and I’ll upload some pics. It’s def a TRD off road. It was in a minor accident. I’m thinking they never put the fogs back in and changed the wheels for some reason.

It has the blue and yellow bilsteins, stickers, and skid plate.

I also ran the vin and it has an upgraded sr5 package which I assume to be the TRD OR

I bought the OE black lug nuts from sparks and they are holding up well.

Remember 97 ft lbs per on the aluminum rims. Much less than the steelies.

I bought my TSS off road used and someone took the wheels off prior to me buying it and I had to go find a set of used take offs so I feel your pain.

also, if you have the wiring for the fogs already I have a set of halogens I can send you if you just want to pay shipping. Otherwise I highly recommend the LED OEM fogs.

I also have/had the MIKKUPPA Amazon lug nuts like you ordered. I sold my TSS wheels a week ago and the lugs went with them. Had them on for a full year.

The paint on the lugs scratches pretty easy when you use a wrench on them. The original lugs did that too. The scratches will form a bit of light rust. None of them had swollen or anything like that. The threads were great, never had any issues there. They held nice and tight. If I had kept them I would have flashed them with some black spray paint the next time I rotated tires. I would definitely buy them again.

Yeah, it was a pain but I got a decent deal on the truck and actually got the rims last night for 450 which is also a pretty good deal.

will keep in mind! As for the fogs, that’s awesome! Would really appreciate that. I do have the harnesses right there. Just have these black plastic grill covers covering the spot where the fogs go.

thanks for the input. I know what you’re talking about, had it happen on a few of my past cars.i think I’ll get the colorlug covers if they get rusty and ugly this time.
