2015 TRD Offroad 4x4, bought stock in 2018. Started pretty basic with a leveling kit, then modified as my needs changed and I found things that could be improved. Also gives me plenty of excuses to tinker with things in the garage and make stuff.

Build rock sliders. All 1.75" .120 wall tube and 3/16 mounting plates. They clamp around the inside lip of the frame similar to the SDHQ ones.

 

Built a bed rack for the RTT and awning (old awning, ARB 2000x2500)


Trailer(sold):

 

Removed the passenger side rear seat a built a tray to hold the fridge.

 

Coastal Offroad bumper kit. Coated it with Raptor liner. Will add a winch at some point.

 

Kept dragging my hitch on things. Didn't want to spend $2k on a rear bumper so I built my own. 3/16 steel with 1/4" on the mounting plates and hitch parts. Raised the hitch about 7.5" over stock. Had some of the brackets laser cut by Sendcutsend. <-- Awesome service

Damn Dave we seem to like similar things. I have an ammo can pit. I have the same jack, that I keep in the same spot. I've got that 3D printed switch thingy and a mount for my Baofeng.

 

Hell yeah!! Nice fab skills... functional and not bad looking. Well done.

Do you have YouTube video that guided you on this build or did you just wing it. Looks sweet. On my future projects list but just a little further down..

 

There's a ton of videos where people put them in toolboxes and other cases to take ideas from, but there wasn't one specific setup I copied. I bought the case and the fuel tank and figured it out as I went. Really all you need for the basic setup is a holesaw for the ducts and some metal to make a bracket to mount the heater in place. I already had the heater so it was just a matter of transferring everything over.

Added a power panel and 100ah lithium battery to the fridge tray. There's a battery monitor and various power ports on there and it also runs the LEDs on the awning and tent. There is a DC-DC charger hidden underneath so the battery can charge off the truck while driving and I can plug in a portable solar panel when parked.

Next on the "it's warm out, time to do work" list: install the winch that's been sitting here since Black Friday

 

Good winches. Running one right now, and on my FJ40. Previously had one on an 80 series. Saved my ass several times this winter w the snow.

 

Nice. They seems to have a good reputation. Do you run the stock hook on yours? Kinda looks like they cheaped out a little on that part

 

On the 40, yes. On the Tundra, no. I swapped it out for a Factor 55 block.

 

Winch installed. Added an Agency 6 shackle.

Had to remove the lightbar from the bumper for the winch to fit, which is pretty lame.

 

Simple onboard water system. Runs to a quick connect by the left taillight to attach a spray nozzle. Need to add another strap to the tanks to hold them in place.

 

Just an FYI...if the wireless/wired switch fails on you, I've got a spare. Smittybilt shit the bed on customer service, and from what I've been reading, this is a not uncommon failure, so gimme a shout if you need the switch.

@Fergie When I was running the winch today it was turning on and off randomly even though I was holding the IN button down constantly. Is that what yours did with the bad switch?

 

Those water jugs fit pretty well in a milk crate. Much easier to strap down. But yours looks really clean.

 

Intermittently, and then when I went to switch it on and off once, the switch portion fell out entirely.

 

Build looks great. Nice to see another Coastal bumper. Surprised you had to remove your lightbar from your bumper to fit a winch. I'm running an Engo 10k winch in mine with a Baja Designs S8 without any clearance issues. I had to relocate my power steering cooler, however, to fit the winch.

 

It looked like it would fit but the back of the light hit the front crossbar of the winch about 3/4" before the winch holes lined up, even with the light as far forward as it would go.

 

Put 3 diode dynamics ss3 Max's on the bumper. More than makes up for the light bar I had to remove. Thanks to @memario1214 for the help demoing lights at T2S.
