Our 2015 DC is getting to that point…haven’t done it myself and not sure I want to.

Any suggestions? I’m in Keller, but don’t mind a little distance for good work.

IMO, brake jobs on Tundras, and Sequoias, are some of the easiest to do. Provided you don't procrastinate to the point you need to turn or replace the rotors.

Thanks, maybe should give it a shot. If only it wasn’t 100 degrees. :(

Tell me about it. I got tired of waiting for cooler temps and just keep a shop fan blowing on me everywhere I'm working

Yeah... the first couple weeks we were in the 100s to put off a lot. But the heat isn't getting better so I've just accepted and tried to cope. Portable gazebo, fans, Gatorade, the cooling neck towels. All help but man I'm ready for like 80s lol

Yeah man I am too. I don't mind getting hit with the heat in August, but we've had it pretty much since I went on summer break. My area has had over 25 straight days of above average heat.

Any shop suggestions? Just don’t want to mess with it myself.

It is a little pricy but I had the dealership do mine.
I did my own brakes on my 2005, but that was when my knees were in better shape.

@texasrho83 is correct, if it is a simple pad swap, it is fairly easy.
But can see not wanting to do it yourself.

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO NTB EVER, FOR ANYTHING..

Ratchet brothers (vendor for NTX tundra crew) if you're in Keller. They're off golden triangle/harmon. PCH Automotive is a family friends shop and ask for Jesse. I've known and used them for over a decade and they're in the same complex as Ratchet Brothers.

Ended up doing it myself with a hand from a buddy (former Tundra owner). Other than compressing the calipers and a set of black hands, wasn’t too bad!

Was going to have the dealership do it for a $239 deal, but when they handed me a sheet with $6K recommended work, I got a bit torqued and walked out.

The rotors ended up not looking all that bad, and the pads had some meat on them… but went ahead and replaced it all. Oem rotors and Akebono pads…about $200 total.

Still need to sort out the other issue…supposedly the right rear bearing is worn and causing problems with the ABS and traction control.

Nice work. I just did the rear brakes yesterday after doing the fronts last year. Still on factory rotors without a problem.

I’m mentally prepping myself for bearing issues given I use my truck like a truck - has yours seen some heavy loads? Doesn’t look too bad to change out hubs…
