I could not find one that would plug into the factory plug.
In the second part of this install post I detailed how I did it - I bought some matching make/female connectors that use the factory terminal pins, and I swapped out the factory connectors.
If I EVER (doubtful, since all my factory bumper parts are now recycled) want to revert back I can determinate and switch back over to the original connectors.

Great idea. I just wired my cubed lights with the AAC trigger connectors which use similar male female connectors. That way if I have to replace my lights, I just unplug them instead of cutting wire and rewire. Thank you!

    A few

Thanks, I ordered the fronts and dome light, and wouldn't you know it, the dome light only works for red on one side. So I put in a support request, and after a few questions, they just ghosted me on any further support and replacement. Not at all what I would have expected.

That was the plan, and @james@tech12volts, suggested listening to the factory speakers, with just the amp upgrade.

At a minimum add the single sub/custom box from @james@tech12volts ... you won't be disappointed!!

All stock speakers for me for now. I may upgrade the sub at some point, but it’s not a priority for me at the moment

Regarding the stock oem speaker locations in front, I see a mid-bass and tweeter in each door and what appears to be three speakers across the dash (left center and right). I've played around with the fader and balance and sound adjustments and I only hear music coming from the dash. I don't hear the door speakers at all. My usual speaker tuning is with 75% front stage and just barely perceptible rear speakers.

Does the tech12volts DSP JBL replacement amp use all the oem speaker locations/channels?

    Thx

    Did you replace your speakers?

I just sold off a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro and had installed AudioFrog speakers, but didn't upgrade the amp. Reportedly the AudioFrog speakers are super efficient and can be driven by the cheesy oem JBL amp module. They did make a nice improvement, but I also went through the doors and cargo area panels and floor with second skin sound deadening materials. That helped bring down the highway road noise around -3dB. I was really disappointed in how thin the door, quarter panels and rear hatch sheetmetal panels are on the 4Runner. That plus the droning TRD exhaust was...exhausting.

Intending to do a similar sound deadening treatment to my Tundra once the warm weather returns in the spring.

I just replaced the amp, sub and sub box; right now still on factory speakers. I think one of the biggest issues w/the stock JBL system is the way the system processes sound signal. The new JBL/DSP does a much better job at sending the proper frequency ranges where they belong and at appropriate levels.

So, yes, I'd assume just replacing the speakers would help, but I think you're ahead of the game to start at the heart of the system (amp/DSP) and then work from there.

It is my plan up upgrade door and dash speakers at a later date when I'm more inclined to popping off door panels and such.

    Couldn’t agree more.
I might add sound deadening art the point I decide to go in and replace speakers. For now, I need to just use it as a truck for a while.

Finally got around to installing my rear bumper. I took your advice and order connectors from the website.

I have another question though. When I tested the factory wires for the license plate lights the green didn't come back with a current. The white/black wire did. So I figured that was positive. So I hooked the red wire to the factory white/black. Then the black wire to the factory green. Lights didn't work. After a couple of hours of testing I just swapped the wires. The lights worked. Green to red and white/black to black. Is that how you wired yours?

I saw a video where some guy wired his this way too. I would think positive to positive and negative to negetive. Positive should come back with a current on the meter. Or am I wrong?

Can you tell me what size pin will work for the shackle mounts? I wanted to order some shackles but I see there are 1/2” and 7/8” pins.

should be getting my bumper in a few weeks.

The wiring diagram for those lights clearly shows green is powered and W/B is ground. Not sure how you are testing, but you should get +12V if you use a multimeter between the green wire and a frame ground if you have the headlights on. It might be possible you were getting current on the ground because you were reading current from another wire that is in the same ground circuit? I didn't bother testing the factory wiring because I've got faith in the EWDs being correct. I just put the terminals into my connector in the same configuration as it was from the factory (pins 1 and 2) and then hooked up the light for the one side.
    upload_2022-11-13_11-12-13.jpg

The light itself, it really depends on what they are buying/shipping to customers. Most LEDs have polarity, so you just have to get the power running in the right direction. My license plate light from CBI came with a white and a black wire and I don't remember if they even stated in the instructions which was which - I just tested it before putting the terminal pins into the connector and made sure to plug them in the way I needed to for it to work. Sounds like yours came with a red and black wire, which would (normally) align with RED=(+) and BLACK=(-).

The holes in the SSO front bumper and the CBI rear bumper are both 15/16" DIA inside.
a 7/8" pin is standard for a 3/4" bow shackle, and they make the holes for that size shackle.

Back when I bought my SDHQ Billet Battery Terminal Kit, it didn't come with the Terminal Protection Kit. So, while recently on a trip to AZ, I stopped into SDHQ and picked one up. And I got it installed today just to tidy things up a little more.
