Are any trails difficult? Probably headed to Zion in 3 weeks and would definitely want to hit some dirt to get to some beautiful places. Got to keep it safe for the family tho.

For a easy family hike and scenic dirt road approach ,try Yant's Flat. Off of I 15 out of Leeds. Worth checking out if your headed to Kolob Canyons ( N. Zion NP). S. fork of Taylor Creek is worth a look.

What/where do you guys recommend to go to in southern Utah? where to stay? me and the wife have been wanting to go for a long time, I figure may as well plan it out now since I'll probably need a week to get there, and a week to stay, and a week to go back.

Planning to drive the truck down with my wife's 4runner on the trailer.

What is your general travel path? What do you want to do generally? For instance hiking slot canyons in south eastern Utah (Moab) is a lot different than going offroading in South Western (St George, Kanab) UT, or if you want to traverse from Moab to st George on dirt, etc. Is the 4runner for cruising or mildly built for trans or built out the ass on 40s? NEED THE DEETS MAN. Regardless all of southern Utah is sick, but what do you want and where do you want to do it :D

We would like to just see places, we don't mind hiking but I'm not huge on hiking (to be honest, hiking in Ontario its either -20 or it's +30c with mosquitoes), we have nothing set in stone, I just know I want to head that way, I've flied over Utah/Arizona many times and always say I want to drive there.

it's a 2020 TRD pro, it'll have 33s m/t and probably regear by then, both cars will have sliders, I don't think we want to push our lucks with rock climbing on unfamiliar place ,but want to experience the beauty.

We are familiar with lots of mud, snow, ice driving.

What's the point of towing the 4runner? Seems like it'd be a pain to always have the trailer, and if it's not a trail rig then what's it gaining you by taking it? My first thought is you could do a cool trip from Moab through canyonlands, to lake Powell (bullfrog), through the henry mountains, through capital reef and grand staircase, through boulder and escalate to Bryce canyon, then turn south and go into Arizona and the grand canyon is right there and then south into whatever goods you want. We've done that route fully once, and then repeated portions of it a few times. Essentially cross the entire southern part of the state and you hit all the super cool scenic areas and have a nice mix or highway and dirt (or bias towards one or the other). Moab is awesome and scenic and you could rent something and run hells revenge which over looks the Colorado, and then canyonlands is nuts, getting into capital reef and the San Rafael swell is awesome, you just see it all. You can do a pavement only version of that, but if you don't have the trailer there's some awesome dirt roads that are graded and really gorgeous off the beaten path a little. All of that is why we eventually moved down here :D Food for thought. Any of those places you could spend weeks at by themselves and set up base camp too.

I wouldn’t mind giving Sand Hollow a little whirl. As long as it isn’t 96* out all day long.

It's mostly so each of us can drive down the trails etc in our own cars, idea is if we are bringing car trailer we'll rent a house or stay at hotel and leave trailer there and drive both cars.

Another one is bring the travel trailer, but then that means only the tundra.

What does that path look like? That sounds like something we want to do, fun offroad that won't make me poop my pants.

That area is some of the prettiest country I've ever seen. I think you could spin around and point your camera blindfolded in Zion and get a picture worthy of hanging on the wall.

I like stuff that makes me feel small, and that'll definitely do it.

I recognized a lot of this from our trip there.

The pic of your truck with Zion Canyon Overlook in the background is cool, did you do the hike up to the overlook?

Just for scale, the pink arrows are pointing to people standing on the top, which is where I am in the other pictures.

It's gotta be 600-700 feet straight down, and there's people just sitting on the edge hanging out having lunch and stuff.

The sketchiest part is there's no real defined "edge"... it just sorta' rolls over.
