Swapped my OEM wheels for TRD and installed Nitto Ridge Grappler tires on my 2017 Tundra SR5. Since the TRD wheels did not come with TPMS sensors, I purchased 4 new ones, part number 42607-0C070.

Original tire shop, local shop and my Toyota dealer all supposedly programmed the new sensor IDs to the ECU, but I am still have the TPMS light lit on the dash.

I have access to the Autel TS508WF and tried the position relearn procedure where it writes the sensor IDs and positions via OBD. All the sensors scan fine, prompts me to hook up to OBD port and turn to ON. Press Y to start the programming process. Communicating with the vehicle pops up. Then, Enter System Failed!

The Autel is up to date with the latest software release.

Any ideas? I'd rather not continue driving around with the TPMS light on.

The TPMS Diagnose function wont work either.

Seems there is an issue with the TS508 communicating with my Tundra. Probably why the original tire shop and local shop could not update the ECU with the new sensor IDs.

I know this is old, but did you ever have any luck with this? I'm thinking of buying the TS508.

Unfortunately, no. Even had dealer do it and tire light came back on within a few minutes of leaving the dealership.

I just purchased a J2534 cable with Toyota Techstream to see if I can somehow get the TCU/ECU unlocked. Not very hopeful though. I hooked up to my Tundra and Techstream could not communicate with the TPMS ECU.
