My tundra does that and its from the rear leaf springs. Grab the springs firmly and shake with all your body weight

No, mine did this behavior 6 months before my left rear body mount collapsed. That was PIA to replace not know if grinding off the rusted bolts was going to set my gas tank on fire since I could smell fumes when I filled it. :bananadead:

After reviewing videos of others online debunking that myth, I bravely attempted the job sparks flying and all and got it done. :D

Now it's the same symptom that I experienced with that first body mount. Feels like the jack shifted in place under the rear seat.

By the way, the 3rd gen taco poly mounts from energy suspensions fit perfectly for our trucks. (DC results may differ)

After doing some electrical work for our HOA this morning, I decided to get a haircut and wash my truck. One the way there, got a CEL and P1126 code. Decided to try easiest first. Cleaned the MAF sensor but code would not clear so I cleaned the throttle body and it cleared and hasn't returned. Success!

Does that include the transmission mount? Which energy mounts are these?

No just the 6 body mounts. I bought them on Amazon for $99.

Yup, I have extended SS lines. Just in front. Rear they didn't have in stock. Eventually I'll get some.

Nice. Yea mine are a bit different since it's a Sequoia. Similar but different lol. I've seen one other guy on here with them. Or maybe it was a different forum, can't remember.

Since we are discussing brakes again I've been meaning to share this update on my GX calipers.

It's been exactly 2 years since I installed the 14WA calipers. At some point, I started noticing a metal on metal noise every time I went over bumps. I only hear it with the windows down. For a while I just assumed it was my aftermarket skid plates where they rest on each other. I removed the skid plate and the noise remained. A few months ago I crawled under the truck with my dead blow hammer and started tapping everywhere to recreate the noise. It wasn't until I smacked both spindles that I heard the same noise. My mind immediately went to the brakes but I dismissed it thinking I was suffering from confirmation bias. Can you guess where I'm going with this?

Fast forward to last week and I'm driving over a particularly bumpy road with the windows down wondering about the god awful rattling noise. I approach a curve and then hit my brakes while going over bumps and the noise immediate stopped. Let off the brakes and the noise comes back. Picutre the old cartoons where the light bulb goes off above the head of the character.

All this time, I've chased every possible issue and it never occured to me that something went wrong when I had these calipers modified at the machine shop. I never measured the ears after picking them up(shame on me). The shop manager seemed to understand exactly what was needed and told me he shaved off the right amount(I believe it was 4mm) They looked great and mounted right up to the spindle. What I suspect is that they didn't mill enough off the mounting ears. The geometry is off somehow and the pistons are having to travel too far to move the pads, thus why I'm having to double pump the pedal. This would also explain the noise. They are rattling against the spindle??? As I apply the brakes, it somehow expands enough to eliminate the rattle.

TLDR-These calipers have to go. I'm ordering new 13WL calipers/rotors/pads. If nothing else, it should solve this noise even if I'm somehow wrong about this also causing the other issue.

Interesting update. It can be hard to trace down a root cause. Milling off ears doesn’t seem overly complicated but I can imagine it’s hard to achieve tight tolerances.

Noises / rattles really get to me too. I have one in the 2016 and several in the Tundra. Stuff you just have to suffer through till you solve it.

Me too. And I love driving with the windows down but I would avoid it because of the rattle. I was so focused on the brake issue that I didn't devote much time to the rattle. It never occurred to me they could be connected.

Put the ol’ girl to work. Definitely not a fast tow but it did it. Going to order some sumo springs to help with the sag and this trip ended up knocking off a factory bump stop anyways.

Do you all think I should try to sell these 14WA's to someone willing to work on them? Knowing they may be hard to fix. I'm not going to send them back as cores for some poor SOB to get stuck with.

In seriousness though, I’m selling the 35’s for 34’s and was about to click buy but had the thought to go to an at tire instead of an mt. So now I’m thinking about trying the falcon at3w’s in 285/75r17. Any thoughts on the at3w or any other at with good traction and good for towing?

I was looking at the AT3 line in general as my go-to just because there's been so much good feedback on many aspects, and they look pretty good. AT3W specifically, lots of glowing feedback:
