    Too many, but not enough....
I used mother's nulens on my wife's matrix headlights and a power drill, I didn't even try that hard and it came out absolutely amazing. Honesty looks brand new and makes the rest of the car look bad haha

Retorqued suspension today, all good, but quick story that might assist amateurs like myself, who has made mistakes along the way and is not ashamed to admit it, especially if my misfortune helps someone else.

I got into the more “technical” aspects of mechanical and electrical work on vehicles late in life (I’m 50). Tinkered with previous vehicles, but just minor stuff. When I started getting into deeper work on my Tundra and Sequoia that required a torque wrench, out of ignorance, I used my 1/2” torque wrench as a breaker bar since the length offered great leverage. I was “smart” enough to adjust the torque setting to the max when breaking, but I found out that using a torque wrench even at max as a breaker bar is a big no-no. Luckily I only did it a couple of times on my 1/2” torque wrench, and never on my 3/8”. So I bought a true 1/2” breaker bar for when I changed out my UCA’s. Definitely needed to break those bolts. I realized after torquing down the UCA bolts that I forgot to make sure the 1/2” torque wrench was in spec, so today before I retorqued I checked both my 3/8” and 1/2” torque wrenches with a couple of (verified) 45# plates. Used 45# for the 3/8” and 90# for the 1/2”. Praise Bob Dobbs, both were good. Man, my old ass lifting those two plates up to the wrench…I had to go wipe my ass afterwards! I hope this educates someone…don’t use your torque wrench as a breaker bar, plenty of articles on the interweb stating this, I just never even considered it.

    * one thing I will add is when following instructions make sure to hit the finer grit of sandpaper extra well to smooth out the lens…it’s probably not noticeable to other than me but I can see some of the scratches that I didn’t buff all the way using the finer stuff…since the oxidation is gone I will probably buff it again next car wash and coat with something

Isn't there a company that makes a clear like stick on lens cover that protects the lens from road grime, and things like that?

I had PPF put on my Morimotos. There are some aftermarket but it only covers the front surface. A piece needs to be added to the top surface as well....that's where the fading starts.

I thought I saw it...just can't remember who makes them, or even were I saw it at. Maybe one time when I was at the dealership getting my truck serviced...they told me about it. I can't remember...I've slept a time or two...LOL

Actually, it was a few miles, but it was almost exclusively downhill. That trip may have bumped my tank average ton 13.6. :D

It has been a busy week. We built a new prototype bumper at my shop (SOB Fabrication), installed new wheels and tires and got an alignment that I desperately needed.

New wheels are black rhino rapids in 17x8.5 and the tires are kanati mud hogs in 37x12.50r17.

I know yours is built nice and expensive, however I've been seeing the price of the newer tundras around 80k or so. Even though I have a ton in mine I'm guessing and hoping I'm well below that. Back in 16 msrp on mine was 45k. I've been seeing double that for new now. It's crazy.

Did some fab work on my tire rack for my Tundra. It was a big heavy one piece rack that can hold four 40” tires. It was also mounted to the bed rails in a way I didn’t like. This rack wasn’t made for my truck but was modified to fit on there. It worked that way for a few years but with the race cars now running 40” tires I knew the old mounting method would eventually ruin my bed rails. Now it utilizes the bed rails the way they were intended.

I also welded on some tabs for an amber light from @Baja Designs and some cheap LED light for the sides.

The rack used to take two people and 20-30 minutes to mount. Now I can do it alone in 5 minutes. And now it sits 2-3 inches higher than it used to, which is nice because now there will now be more room under the tires.

    BF711CF6-0AC6-4E09-A5CB-B66B7BDB3AFE.jpg B63D972E-28CE-4D0F-8DDC-0E2E527F1921.jpg C9E6ADA6-A772-4ACC-9F3B-3D4936066A6B.jpg 3D74688C-AE6F-4A13-84C9-04CA3E034DA6.jpg DDC104FF-8F76-4CFB-A71C-298FA23D4621.jpg 9C1FA0AF-48CE-4C5C-A500-F28F04BBCDB0.jpg 8B7750A6-96DF-4982-8868-C845949CE979.jpg

This is how the rack used to sit. Two pieces on angle iron made into a Z-bar. Then there were four mounting plates that bolted to the bottom of the angle iron and to the bottom part of the bed rail. Not the best set up but it worked for the time being.
