I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra 4 door 2wd. My axle is leaking grease badly.
I was told by mechanic who works on these to find a full axle shaft assembly. Dorman makes after market parts but not for my model.
The truck is not wort paying for genuine Toyota parts. For everything i would need would cost me an arm at least. Does anyone know someone besides Dorman that that makes aftermarket axle parts.

I mean, I can't talk to aftermarket but IIRC, the double cab is different housing than access/regular cab by an inch or fraction of an inch.

I'm curious where it's leaking from, are you in the salt/rust belt and the pumpkin is rusted through?

I'd probably be hitting www.car-part.com and trying to find a used complete rear axle from a 2005-2006 double cab Tundra. There's bound to be several out there...

Leaking grease??? I'm with Shifty, if you're situation is not a rusted through axle tube, than you have lots of options for repair. Leaking diff cover can be repaired, leaking axle seals can be repaired, leaking pinion seal can be repaired.

Lots if us on here recommend Toyota OEM due to the lack of quality control in aftermarket parts. Manufacturers that produced ok parts a year ago are now sold/merged into megacorps that churn out parts that only last 12 months or 12,000 miles. Our OEM parts lasted 100, 150, 200k so we prefer to change it once and not have to deal with it again for a decade or so.

I live in the northeast so yea lots of road salt but nothing is rusted through that I can tell Im not sure exactly where it is leaking from.
The inside of my brake housing and rim are covered in oil.

I have limited tools and no garage to work in so I don't mind spending a little more money to make it easier.

Axle seals. @bmf4069 has done those.

    Does your truck have ABS?

2wd & 4wd are the same except for the pinion flange... Which can be swapped.

Yup. It's not bad to replace the axle seals and retainers if you know someone with a 20 ton press. Me and @Mr.bee did them relatively easy. I'll give you a write up if you're interested.

I just wrote a whole writeup and it dissapeared when I went to get links. Check out this thread:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/rear-axle-seals-bearings.39306/

You'll need a seal puller and, if you're gonna do new wheel bearings and retainers, the Toyota axle tool.

    https://www.amazon.com/NIXFACE-Bear...mzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0

There's some good links in that thread if my incoherent rambling doesn't make sense.
