You won't be able to take advantage of the Toyota platinum as you're over mileage

Just a friendly reminder to everybody if you want the extended Toyota platinum warranty it has to be purchased within your 3 year 36000 mile warranty.

Many thanks to @AZTundra for the referral and even more thanks to Jerry for the painless and enjoyable transaction. Jerry was very clear, honest and never forceful in his approach. Straight shooter who just laid out the options.

I ended up going with the 10yr/100,000mi warranty for $1,545. Honestly, it seemed like a no brainer given it's coverage and that there is so much tech that can go wrong and this manufacturer's platinum warranty covers so much.

I just had my rearview camera replaced under the unexpired standard warranty that would have cost about $500. It wouldn't take more than a couple average warranty claims to make it worthwhile. If it is available to you and you can afford it, it is a really good deal IMO.

This is an excellent point. And if I had not found this site and this thread, I would have likely missed out on this opportunity on my new(used) 2021. Very thankful.

I am not sure. I don't know if AZTundra has an understanding with the salesman Jerry, or not. When I spoke with Jerry he asked to please refer to him, but I did not ask him if his contact info could be made public. It might be a situation like what Roman had. AFAIK, Roman was doing such a great job at selling parts that other dealers were upset and eventually Toyota Corporate pulled the plug.

I paid $2900 for my extended warranty, bumper to bumper. 7 years/100k. Did I do good?

I should add that my truck is a bit high mileage for the year. 65k from 2020 do I don’t think i qualified for what it is offered here.

There were other contacts in the past that helped members save quite a bit too. The issue in regards to posting the contact info publicly is that other dealerships began to complain to Toyota corp due to loss of business and they stepped in and made it so those dealerships were no longer able to sell warranties out of state. We're good to share the contact info to everyone, but doing so through private messaging protects all of us and keeps it going.

Seems high to me. Are they only covering up to 100K miles on the truck? Not to 165K right. If so, you're paying $2,900 for 35K miles of coverage (65k to 100k). I would image that the 7 years is also from the date the truck was initially sold as new.

That sounds a bit high. If you are already at 65k then you have effectively only bought 35k mile warranty (what's left before you hit 100k).
It depends on how much you use the truck, but in my case I do about 30k per year so for me it would be a 1yr/35k warranty even though they call it 7yr/100k. It makes a big difference if you look at it that way.

When did you buy it? You can typically cancel it within 30 days or something like that if you have second thoughts.

If you can't cancel anymore, then don't worry about it and know that you are covered up to 100k.

No, the warrantyn is for an additional 100k or 7 years and then I get a free year or 5k miles, so total 8 years. So the warranty would end when the truck is 170k or so, or 8 years from now. Thats bumper to bumper, so if anything breaks, they replace it without any additional cost on my part.

That's good. Gives you time to think about it or look at other options.
I never buy extended warranties on Toyotas. Last 6 Toyotas all had over 100k miles and never any issues. I figure at $2k or $3k each, I would have spent about $15k on warranties, and never needed it. So, even if something happens now and I have to pay for a repair, I actually have $15k in the pocket. kind of...

I bought a used Camry with 30k miles for my son when he started driving 6 years ago. The salesman talked me into a $3k warranty. The car's monthly payments were $300. I realized I was going to pay for a whole year just to pay off the warranty, so I cancelled it and paid the car off in 4 years instead of 5. The car now has 130k miles on it and never needed anything done to it.
