Has anybody tried blacking out their chrome trim on the 04-06 SR5 DCs? A couple of years ago the rubber on my window trim peeled off so I went ahead and sanded/bed-lined those, and they look pretty good. Kinda tired of the chrome up front on the grill and mirror caps and was wondering if anyone has had luck blacking them out, or color matching like the limited.

    Picture is for reference

Atleast you don't have the chrome bumpers like our 2.5 gens come with... you can see I blacked out the bumper in my profile pic and I have also blacked out the grill surround and hood trim piece but haven't updated my pic in a while. There is a LOT of chrome on the front of those trucks... some models even came with chromed out MIRRORS AND DOOR HANDLES. Jeezus Toyota went a little chrome crazy on that generation... I guess they thought Americans were obsessed with chrome or something? Looks like they finally took the hint and dialed it back a bit on the new model.
edit: Just noticed you have the chrome mirrors! Was that an SR5 thing or all first gens?

I would color match the mirrors if your willing to spend the $$ or alternatively black out the mirrors and and the grill. I personally love the blacked out look and can be done a lot cheaper. Either way bad ass truck my dude!
