For those who have done the window trim, is there a way to do it without breaking the trim pieces? My intent is to remove the trim and wrap it, then re-install. If I can't do that, I might just order the black trim pieces and do a plasti-dip for now.

I'd rather hit my hand with a hammer than look at all of this horrid chrome. It was almost enough to drive me to a lower trim, non-TRD OR. Toyota chose the wrong focus groups to help them determine which trims had chrome and which didn't.

There is some good info in this thread that I read through before I did my swap on the window trim: https://www.tundras.com/threads/door-window-trim-chrome-delete.106454/

On the front doors, you'll need to remove the mirrors. On the back doors, start with the removing the horizontal trim first, then the vertical trim. Install in reverse. There is a clip in the vertical trim that holds the horizontal trim. When removing the horizontal pieces (from front or rear doors), start at the B pillar side. There is a specific clip in the B pillar, then it's just looped over the metal clips after that (where the trim is over glass instead of B pillar).

When removing the vertical trim on the rear doors, remove it back of truck to front of truck. Not top to bottom or bottom to top. I bent my piece doing this. Wasn't really a problem since I replaced with OEM black pieces.

That is perfect, thank you! That link should guide me through the process pretty well. I'm pretty sure I broke the clip at the back of the front door trim piece, I was even using appropriate trim removal tools. Fortunately it still holds tight and secure.

Not easy but possible. I removed all 6 trim pieces and just broke the tab on one. The fragile tabs on the front trim pieces are on the door handle (rear side). Fragile tabs on the back door are near the front, or hinge side. The vertical pieces on the rear doors come off easily and go back easily.

Your second photo is how Toyota should market the Tundra in a brochure. They must love that we have to buy SR and SR5 parts for upper trims.

In that other thread, I don’t remember folks saying you had to remove the mirrors. It sounded like they slid out from under them. Is that not true? How hard was it to remove the mirrors?

You don’t need to remove the mirrors. The trim just slide in and out

Offtopic, did you paint or wrap your grill surround? The front end looks soo much better with it color matched!

Sounds like you don't have to remove the mirrors, but I did. It was extremely easy. Just pull the triangle trim piece from the inside, take off 3 10mm nuts, disconnect wire harness, and it comes right off.

I had them painted. This red color is so amazing. It's a 3 stage paint process. It looks dark red in shade/overcast and pops in the sun. I've seen that the wraps look very close, but I can't imagine how it would match at different times of day.

My experience was ok, but I wouldn't say great. This is my second 2022 tundra I bought from them. I put a deposit down for hybrid 4x4 back in December. Because it was taking so long, I bought an SR5 to drive until I got my allocation. My sales guy was the one who recommended it since used values were so strong. When I got my allocation and went to trade it in, they absolutely tried to fleece me on the trade. I just bought the new truck and didn't trade the SR5. I sold it a week later and got what I needed out of it. I was frustrated that I had several transactions and they refused to budge on their pathetic offer for my trade. The sales guy was of course on my side, but they won't let you plead your case to the man behind the curtain coming up with the joke of trade in offers. It's a shame because I could have had an awesome experience, but I see them as greedy now.
