Yes...They detained me and my wife for over an hour in Washington. I will never go back there. Their excuse was that they thought I was a deserter....

Was it BP (green uniform) or OFO (blue uniform)? OFO is at the POEs while BP works between them.

If you’re good at what you do or love what you do that’s a positive in my book! Lots of people out there hate their jobs. Wow that looks crazy wild & I like it!! I have heard of VP, but never seen it in real life. Assume takes much more time to create than to just lay/float/paint regular sheet rock?

Yes, the wall gets prepped as usual for texture. Preferably a level 3 for the shiny stuff. Then instead of texture it gets primed and you start the vp process. 3-4 coats with dark colors although that product says 2-3. I’m still learning. That’s actually the second time I did that wall nice I didn’t really have it figured out yet. A few spots were peeling when I tried burnishing. Cant burnish too early or too hard or too late. Big learning curve

I don't remember but I think it was blue. Well at least the douche outside that made the judgement call. The guy inside the station was a little more reasonable and was prob just annoyed as I was.

Yeah, don’t get the blue shirts confused with the green shirts. Blue is Ports of entry, to include international airports and sea ports. BP, green shirts is “everything in between “ POE’s. Same three letter agency, WAY different jobs.

Realtor. I was a construction plumber for 9 years before. Decided to be my own boss and make my own schedule. I enjoy climate-controlled environments over working in the elements as well.

I work for a wholesale fastener distributor, mostly electronics oriented.

What I do depends on the day.

Mostly QC & operations, a little sales, a little marketing, fill in for whoever's out sick or on vacation, fix the freaking toilet when it won't stop running, hang sheetrock when the warehouseman runs the forklift into the wall... I wear many hats.

Mostly 'cuz I'm the one who doesn't piss and moan when asked to do something outside my normal job description.

Kind of a pain sometimes, especially when trying to focus on one task, but it keeps it interesting.

It also makes me valuable to the company and the boss has been pretty generous.

Most of my jobs before this were physical... construction, satellite installer, I started here in the warehouse throwing boxes around.

I swear this cushy desk job is slowly killing me!

There is a pretty good chance. Until I started working there, I didn’t realize that our steel is literally EVERYWHERE.

I've worked on jobs where the spec required US made steel, so if you're at one of the bigger manufacturers I can pretty well guarantee I've worked with it.

US steel is the best I've worked with, European is a close second. South American is so-so and Chinese is total crap.
