Mechanical or non electrical key?

Hello all,
Is there a mechanical non-electric key for entering the truck? One of the few things I really did enjoy about the F-150 was the keypad entry and being able to lock the keys in the truck while surfing or whatever. I understand we can’t do that, but the next best option is some type of waterproof key. Is there anything like that?

 

There is a mechanical key inside of your key fob (release lever is on the back of the fob). Of course, if you leave the electronic transponder of the fob inside the truck, it just means that someone just needs to get the door open then away they go. No need to find it hidden somewhere. I really miss the keypad on my F150 for the same reason.

 

Yeah, the key pad and no fob is fantastic. I’ve been trying to imagine how I will survive without it. There are nice aftermarket keypads, which are a partial solution, though as you say once they’re in they’re gone because of the fob based system.

My last Tundra got stolen while I was surfing because they found where I hid the key.

 

I just found these faraday bags you can put your key fob inside and hide it or lock it in a console safe. That will block the signal and the truck won't detect it.
