What batteries are you guys putting in your Tundra's?

Mine just took a dump so I'm looking to replace, I use the lights in my topper a lot but they are LED strips, they dont use much for power, other than that I have a light bar and ditch lights but rarely run them without the truck running. I have a camping setup in the back of the truck but no electric accesories yet, maybe a fridge in the future.

That said I have looked at the Optima Yellowtop, seems like a good battery for my setup but what cheaper ones do you guys reccomend?

Do I need a voltage booster with the X2?

I think stock is a group 24, I'm guessing I can get a group 27 in there? If I was to go to a group 31 what else would I have to do, I'm guessing an aftermarket battery tray but would that require a different alternator? Clearly I dont know much about batteries!

Need? I mean - it’ll work without one but the Tundra puts out voltage that is outside it’s specified charging range. Easy fix.

Went with the X2 from Batteries Plus. I'll have to do the voltage booster mod, now that I have a better understanding of it all. Thanks for the help!

I don't get much of a boost out of the HKB. Might as well do GM diode imo.

I have had such bad luck with Costco, unfortunately. However, their warranty is great. If I had to do it all over I’d get a super premium optima battery from the start
