Hey everyone, so I finally got around to installing my Rago Ditch Light brackets and lights last night.

Right now I have a fuse tap on order. My question is, where should I should fuse tap at to have the switch illuminate with all of the other switches, basically off during the day..? Right now I am not using the 4th wire of my switch at all, therefore the switch is always lit up.

Picture for those on the ropes about ditch lights. I love everything about them, when searching for pictures and information I could never find anything Tundra related, always Tacoma stuff.

I'll get an additional picture or 2 tonight with them illuminated.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll look tonight for a light blue wire coming off a neighboring switch. Makes sense though, considering those all illuminate once the headlights come on. Did you use a posi-tap?

Off topic but had a question for you. Do you get a lot of glare off of the hood with these lights? I want to install these but aim them almost straight rather than out to the sides. Looks like you have them slightly turned out but still lighting out in front of the truck.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I think I would flip the bolts. Have a bad bounce and that bolt will be in the paint really quick.

No glare at all actually! I do not know what effects you would encounter with different colors or anything. For me and the white, no glare on either side. What you do see is from the sun, I was in parking garage at the time.

Is the wire more of a teal color? Picture of the back side of the panel.

As you can see, I tried one of the blue wires, but didn't get any results.

I ended up using a volt meter, turns out I had the right wire. I am now good to go. Thanks for all of the help.

Future note, do not cross the wires coming from the harness to the switch. I was working off of a video for the wiring. Turns out it was wrong for the Tundra.

For the Freedom LEDs: WHITE to GREEN, BLUE to RED closest the GREEN, BLACK to BLACK. Second RED goes to Darker BLUE next to the purple there. On the factory switches anyways..

I wondered how these would look on a CM. I am not a fan I think they are too small on such a large rig. But I'm glad you like em and they do make great light.

    Top left in the picture.

Bottom most switch on the panel. Wire furthest to the edge. That's the illumination wire.

Best way to check it is shave a bit and use a volt meter to see if 12 volts are there when you turn the headlight switch on. Check it for 0 volts when the lights are turned off.

Thank you. Agreed that they are not for every body. I'm not a light bar guy and these were extremely economical compared to a light bar.

Be advised these little guys pack one hell of a punch!

I'm not a light bar fan either. They square off the nice curves of a beautiful truck. I still like the old school circle lights. I may do a small light bar on my future bull bar since it won't stand out too much. I bought some square creeds like the ones you just mounted and I'm going to mount them to my frame facing to the sides of the truck when I get time. Kids keep telling me I don't get that time.

Did you drill a hole in that plastic to run the wire from the light itself or go behind that little flap at the very end of the plastic? I've never wired shit and this thread makes it seem possible for me haha

I just went around and tucked it away. I didn't drill one piece. And when I ran through the fire wall grommet, I used a blade to cut a very small section on the top left side. Then taped the wire to my antenna and fished it through haha.

It really is simple. If you have any questions just let me know.

It won't touch your paint, the bracket moves up and down with the hood. He has them bolted in the proper way.

I have these on a CM, I think they're perfect and actually get compliments on them often. I have the side shooters and they pretty much light up a 1/2 circle from the center to the front of the truck. The light output on these pods is amazing.
