Long time listener, first time caller.

Recently I was told I had no brake lights when stopping. I also had the ABS and traction light come on my 2013 Tundra work truck. Read all the threads and prepared for a wheel speed sensor or wiring issue. I did figure out that when not in auto headlight mode, the brake lights worked but were dimmer than normal.

Before I could find time to address the warning and brake lights, the engine light came on and the 4Hi light started blinking. Read more threads and decided to borrow a code reader. And then I started reading LED threads and watching videos and dug into the recesses of my brain. The one that went to school to be an electrical engineer but never really practiced it.

I had, three months ago, replaced my brake lights (both) with LEDs, Amazon specials. Instead of tearing into sensors or wheel hubs or even reading any codes, I decided to swap out the LED bulbs. Just swapped in the indicator bulbs for a quick check. They worked! Auto head light setting on or off. All warning lights cleared on their own the first time I started the truck. I had already checked all fuses, relays and wiring before the bulb swap, so that was all good.

Moral. Beware of lower power consuming LEDs confusing the computer.

    I hope this helps someone.
