Did you have to run wire from the mirror through the door into the interior in order to wire the mirror up?

@Musicmasterd12, yes sir, I did the short route, through the mirrors, to the plugs behind the tweeters in the door sail, posi-tap the wires #3 negative, #4 positive.

so you just had to tap the wires in the bundle behind the door sail? Didn’t have to take full door panel off and run wire behind speaker into the interior by the kick panel?

Yes sir @Musicmasterd12, kinda, I had time to take the door panel completely off, but I didn’t want to mess with the kick panel, or the rubber boot, so just the bundle next to the tweeter, in the sail.

    Forgive my ignorance...

What the hell is a door sail? Kind of sail shaped plastic cover for the mirror mounts?

Picture posted appears to be the harness for the door mirrors. Is this the harness you tapped into for your indicator signal? Obviously that would be almost too convenient.

I would have to run a lead into the cab for puddle lights anyway. Just curious where you're picking up the signal wire.

    Yes. You got it.

I did mine the same time I added puddles and front turn and mirror signals

    Very cool. Thank you.

I'm debating the same thing right now. Don't have any issue with the factory mirrors, but the indicator is really nice since there are no others along the side of the truck.

Also kind of worried I may break the factory mirrors while removing, so it might be nice to have replacements. :monocle:

Just take your time popping them out and in.

Mine felt a little stuck first time removing them but stick with it and they will come out.

if you break anything I can send you my stock ones if needed.

That is a very kind offer I hope not to take you up on :D

I picked up a cast aluminum speed square a while back and think it should do nicely.

    We shall see.

@COTundie, I was hesitant, at first, but once I put the plastic pry tool, under the mirrors, added some pressure upwards, mirrors tilted down, bottom of mirrors in, top of mirrors forward, @Taco-Spike, great work, puddles, and signals, will be my next steps, would have yesterday, but rain was in the area.

Ah. You must have jbl. My mirror panels don't have a tweeter in them.

20 TRD PRO, Midnight Black Metallic, upgrade from 14 Platinum MGM, do miss all the bells and whistles, but @RainMan_PNW, has put some great information out, and this forum, is awesome, someone has a answer, and can/will walk us through any issues, We All Rock.

I have a question about the P-side mirror..
Is the main, large piece of mirror, flat?
As in no distortion for field of view?
I hoping the etching that state" Objects closer than they look" applies to the small spotter portion?

I have stock mirrors, and I can't stand the stock convex mirror on the p-side. I've used big tow mirrors for years that had the main portion, just flat so the field of view is normal.

    TIA

I’m getting a great view from both, I think the warning involves both views, when I look the larger mirror, shows a good field of view behind the truck, the smaller mirror, shows the view, down the side, and eliminates my blind area, while backing, I can view the rear wheels, without any problem, @WVI

It is the big mirror that has the 'warning' on it..
    I love these mirrors..

    rxuossdz_02aee7fbc8027cf58ddf9d00014fa319a2d071a6.jpg

My 2014 SR5 did not have the turn signal feed wiring in the mirror plug.
It had the wires, but they had no power, same for the puddle light feed.

I had to run it 6 years ago for my MUTH mirrors.
Then I took it apart again a couple of years later to run my puddle light feed..

I put connectors in the door in case I need to remove the mirror..

My wires were #3 negative, and #4 positive, TRD PRO, were wired for signals, I’ll go back later, and add puddles, and signals on the outer side of the mirrors, maybe try some switchbacks led lights.

Yep, that's what the schematic shows.
    But I had nothing..

Here is the puddle light if you need it, but it's a 2015 diagram.

Thank you, I’m thinking, the puddles will require a little more attention, that will be the kick panel, and rubber boot, PRO not wired for puddles.

Thanks again. I'm still on the fence about getting a set as I really like a reg view mirror on the pass side.
I can see that these would be much better than stock.

@WVI, I know the feeling, it was a minute, before I did the order, and you can always, switch back, to your original mirrors.
