Yep. Exactly like mine. The mystery remains.

Luckily, unplugging the resistor is just as easy and works perfectly.

Unplugging the resistor didn't work for me. After a day or two I will loose all headlights until I plugged it back in.

Had to cut the yellow/black wire going to the drl module.

I remember you saying that before. Which is bizarre and makes no sense if the wiring diagram I have is accurate as the resistor should have absolutely nothing to do with the normal function of the headlights and the only thing cutting to yellow and black wire should do is disable your highbeams. Perhaps there was more than one way these trucks where wired.

I guess if my drl relay was bad, that will cause my headlights not to work if resistor is disconnected.

That is true, but it would also mean your headlights are always running through the resistor and never at full brightness, do your headlights seem dim to you? May be worth testing that DRL relay.

    DRL are dim.
Low beams brighter by twice DRL.
    High Beams are High Beams.

    LED (Katanas)
DRL and Low Beam are same brightness (bright as sun)
HIGH Beam is HIGH Beam (like a lighthouse).

Indeed. When you turn on your low beams your headlights should be roughly twice as bright as they are when its just the DTRs. Should be really easy to test. If there is no change between your DTRs and your low beams then that would mean the DRL relay is failed, which would make the resistor as the only path to ground for your headlights and dim both your high beams and low beams (but not your fogs, they have a separate ground)

I actually really like the stock headlights on the tundra. I think it has the best headlights of any vehicle I've owned in that regard. (I also have new headlight clusters so my plastic is nice and clear)

So I found out today that my relay had an intermittent problem causing my headlights to be dim (low and high beams). Too care of that issue by installing a jumper where the relay was.

Now trying to figure out the fog light anytime mod. Any chance anyone has a wiring diagram for the fogs??

Behind the ignition switch is a 2 wire plug. All you need to do is unplug it. It takes out the headlight and door chimes.

I figure the day I do this will be the day I forget my keys in the ignition and find a way to lock it. Good write up and pictures though.
