Newer guy here just surfing the page trying to figure out what I need for my 3.4 a/t to m/t swap with a R150. Do you have pictures of your pedal assembly? I was given a clutch pedal from a 88 Tacoma but it looks as if it’s going to be a direct bolt in to where the brake pedal assembly is currently.

I don't have pictures of it outside but will take some of it installed. The clutch pedal should bolt it easily, it's the brake pedal that's different. The Tacoma brake assembly does not bolt in. You have to use the tundra mount/tundra Mt brake pedal.
Also the parking brake pedal will have to be removed and swapped to a pull style handle if you want to keep it stock looking.

So what was involved with the bellhousing swap. (Sorry if it was posted here already. I’m at work and skimmed) I need to figure this out for a potential 3UZ swap into a taco

OK, @Nuclear_w0rm, what's the story on the bellhousing? :D
I checked your thread creation history and I don't see a separate thread.

Been meaning to write that up, life got in the way lol.
The Thailand housing is meant for the shorter input shaft version of the r150 for a plug n play install. I had to machine 5mm off mine and re-machine the pilot seat.
And the slave mount is extra tall and needs to be trimmed down as needed and re-tapped. Other than that it should just work.
I used a stock flywheel and clutch from a 3vz and it's holding up great so far after 5000kms.

Well damn. I was hoping it was more bolt on ish. I’ve got a wrecked 01 taco with a r150f that may end up under the tundra if the auto pisses me off enough

Good to know the pedal bracketry from said wreck is useable to me too

If you decide to to pull parts off the wreck, I would suggest taking the T handle ebrake and equalizer off the frame if you want to keep the parking brake working on the Tundra.

yeah I cant find that separate thread either, just picked up an R150F from an 03 tacoma, trying to plan this for my 00 2UZ tundra
those shift solenoid CELs, were you able to get rid of them at all? does cruise control still work?
and I figured I would need tundra manual pedals, but did I see yall say tacoma pedals will work?

also also also, how hard was it for you to find driveshafts lol

Been lazy lol didn't make another thread. Gonna get to it when I update the clutch to an LCE unit. The OEM 3vz is tired already after 12k km and 34s - drives like a CVT sometimes lol.
Shift solenoid CELs are defeat-able with some resistors (plenty of threads on how to do that/ill dig up the value). Getting the trans vss signal is another story for Cruise and will be the only CEL. IMHO the 99-02 2uz ECU's are the best for this swap as they don't really care what gear the nonexistent trans is in for the engine to run properly. I didnt pursue cruise it as I swapped my steering wheel to one from a '18 Highlander for wheel heat and the controls added more complexity - maybe one day!
Pedal wise if you want an easy swap manual tundra is the way to go. If not then a taco clutch with the auto Tundra brake can work - need to flip the mount and re-weld to change the angle of the pedal so it clears the clutch. Also, try to get the taco E-brake and equalizer off the frame as the foot operated unit will have to be deleted.

really? I was looking at the VSS on the auto and the VSS on my 5 speed and they look the same, at the very least it looks like another 3 pin connector on the tail shaft, what year is your trans? edit, I see it, 98, my 5 speed is an 03 and my truck is an 00

I wish toyotas parts website didnt nerf itself so I can check compatibility

The vss off the transfer case is pnp and drives the speedo. There's a second vss on the trans that the ecu uses for cruise and shift points. Now that I think of it, I would pull all the sensors off the auto and plug them into the tundras harness along with the range switch and tcase motor to simplify life. Maybe remote mount the range switch to "change" gears and attempt cruise...hmm now my gears are turning lol

in order to realistically do this swap in california I need to be able to get rid of all CELs, I can live without the cruise control, but if it throws a MIL on the gauge cluster then I cant pass smog

Pretty sure that's a R155F (4cyl) since he took the BH off. RA60s are integrated.

Ahh should've led with California. Here in Ontario, Canada we abolished smog ;). Do they allow non emissions related CELs? Or none at all? Before scrapping smog here, they switched to OBD based testing. As long as the emissions monitors were ready you'd pass.
Only other option may be finding the unobtainable UAE 2uz MT ecu or getting a standalone (Haltech etc). At that point the cost of the swap makes it less appealing.
I'm going to check out the sensors on the spare a340 I have and see how the ecu can be tricked in a few weeks time. Thanks for waking me up!

Hey hey! Speaking of Canadians, it's Ian from Xtreme 4x4 bitd. I suspect if you ping him, he'll probably answer. I used to watch he and Jessi every weekend, like, 20 years ago or something.

Non emissions ones sure, but it can't illuminate the little engine light on the gauge cluster (MIL)
People have been flashing codes out, which can work for me since it won't be BARd
