Any 100% agave Tequila is fine for margaritas. Can't say that I would ever pick Cuervo though. Not a fan personally.

If you like Tequila, venture into the world of Mezcal if you feel adventurous.

    It's good
I would take Sauza over Cuervo any day, But have you tried tradicional?

I actually just read your first comment closer and realized I was wrong. My mind went to Cuervo Gold which isn't good. I haven't had the Tradicional. I bet it's much better based on what I'm reading. Now I'm curious about the blind taste test too.

I've had the silver before and it's a lot better than the gold.

I was on vacay in Florida, at a bar in Clearwater and sat next to a college professor that told me the trending drink of the students at the time. Had to try it of course. Corona in a bottle with a shot of Bacardi 151, yeah, poured in the corona. 2nd one tasted better than the 1st.
I'd have another, but I'm a rum guy. and a whiskey guy. and a tequila guy. and a vodka guy.
If you have not tried Tres Amigos, I highly recommend it. Best tequila IMO, $38/bottle @ costco. Might cost less over there.

I've been through a lot of brands including the amigos and now have settled on 2 price points. $30 or less for mixing and $50-70 for straight. Some sub $30 is good enough for straight and I will go there without pause, like Corralejo. Cristilano is anejo that's been filtered which makes it clear like silver/blanco but you get a lot of different flavors from the aging and filtration process. Herradura ultra, Don Julio '70 are really good and 1800 is a bit cheaper at $45-50 and it's good, Tuyo has 2 different ones that are supposed to be really good but I haven't tried them yet $80-100.
We usually have a bottle or 2 of cristilano in the freezer and 1 or 2 of the lower stuff

Any of you guys have tequlia with the worm in it? I know they stopped doing that around here a long time ago but people would always get dared to eat it.

I imagine they may still do it in Mexico but I don't know.

You can go to flea markets here and get the lollipops with insects inside them. Want a scorpion sucker?

The last couple of weeks we have been using Piedra Azul tequila. It's 100% blue agave (allegedly) and has been on sale for $13.49. Impossible to drink straight, it goes down ruff but for mixed drinks it's perfectly fine

I used to know a guy from Alabama who made the shine. Excellent stuff to remove crud and rust from the exhaust pipes, left it nice and shiny. Drinking it would remove your ability to taste anything for a week or so and it would be wise to steer clear of fire for that week. 1 fart could be explosive, jet fuel is childs play

I got peer pressured into eating a cricket at work. My strange coworker brought in a can he bought somewhere. The taste was ok but one of the bastards legs got stuck on my tongue like a popcorn kernel. I gagged and and my eyes started to water.

Added to my list of things I'm never doing again....

i inhaled a grasshopper on a dirtbike ride. Made me fall over choking because he spread his legs and tried to climb out. I tried to hack him out, but it didnt work. He stopped struggling, and probably got digested. Thought i was gonna die.

For cheap tequila for mixing and such, el jimador is unbeatable. Just tried a new sipping tequila at a football draft last weekend, it was pretty good. Maestro Doble Diamanté was the name of it. One of my buds is a big wheel at a distributing company and brought a case of it that fell off the truck.

I found 8 of these on a motorcycle ride.

I gave 6 away, finished one in a week, and saving the other.
